The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - REMASTERED
I feel terrible for the nerds who spend 10 years developing Skyblivion

It's a strange suggestion for a substitution.
Like medieval life simulator is a fine piece of craftsmanship, where if I find myself drowning in spare time, I can use those hours to literally spend real time toiling away and cooking my own alchemical potions by following a tedious as **** recipe and timed procedure, where if I lose focus in any way due to the sheer tedium, then the potion will not be created properly and the time will be wasted. I can spend my time running away from combatants I don't have a prayer of beating in a 2+ V 1 scenario as well, until I once again get poor Henry who I'd already grinded out literal days of playtime getting him combat worthy in the first game, only to find that a bump on the head has essentially factory reset him to a potato in terms of ability. Sure. I could play that. OR I spend my time in Oblivion, laying waste to the Daedric hordes, Bandits, Vampires, goblins, ghosts, and all manner of predatory wildlife with spells I've created myself, A bow ive summoned frim the literal plane of hell, sword and board, and Skull smashing axes, clubs, and Warhammer. I could join factions of Thieves, Assassins, Mercenaries and Wizards, literally enjoying every aspect of the gameplay. The two experiences are so far removed from one another it just doesn't make any sense to even suggest it.

Every system in these Bethesda games are half assed on comparison, whether we are talking about reputation, the crime system, NPC behavior (both enemy and friendly), quest innovation and multiple routes to solve quests, ect.
I can appreciate being a fan of the fantasy setting vs. the limitations of being grounded in reality. I play these games for the story, exploration, and immersive systems. There is just no going back (for me) after experiencing Warhorse's masterpiece. I've seen too much! |

I have just aged beyond the desire to have games be a complete pain in the ass to accomplish anything; hell, it's not like I was a fan of that shit when I was younger, either. Real life is challenging enough. At this point, I feel like I need to make a saving throw if I carry a heavy box down the stairs. ![]() |

The games are 20 years apart in their creation. I'd certainly hope a game just released can perform these functions better than a game created 20 years ago on decades old engine. Lmfao, like....okay? Great flex! Now tip the kid in the wheelchair over! I judge games on if they're fun to play, not if they're the embodiment of perfection. That's a short God damn list. Swearing off a hundred hours of great content because you encountered a bug, or glitch in a game engine made 20 years ago is like the Skip Bayless level take on gaming. I can practically hear Skip crying over this. OBLIVION?! One of the greatest rpgs ever maade? Sigh. Sigh. COME ON. I told the city watchman about a man asking me to kill residents of the town. The city watchman confronts the man, a fight ensues, and the watchman kills the man. AND. THEN. WHAT. HAPPENS? You know and I know the AI on the game is atrocious. The watchman, who just had a battle to the death with this man, now looks at the corpse, surprised, asking him if he's all right? WHAAAAAAAAT? HE HE HE was just fighting with him!! Then he exclaims into the air someone's been murdered, and walks away muttering to himself that there's a killer on the loose. Oblivion is a fraud. Lmmfgdao.
