TRANSFORMERS

I just got home from an 8pm first showing of this movie. I took my 10 and 5 year old kids and they loved it! I must say, I wish the movie was out when I was a youngster. But late its better than never! Great flick Lotsa explosions, but the violence was mostly metal exploding or being shot up. Stronly recomended for those of you still stuck in your childhood like me.

Um, yeah, that's how it worked. Usually Starscream or Soundwave held Megatron.

I realize that, and that's why Bay changed it, so that Megatron would not require another Decepticon to be around if he wanted to transform.

Did Bay say that? Because Hasbro hasn't let Megatron be a gun for a long time for safety reasons from what I have read...

ok I saw this today and loved it! I do wish they would have had a better story with the decepticons....actually I wish they would have focused more on a story with the transformers than the high schoolers. But I liked it, a lot of cool action and brought back some memories, some funny lines. I really thought it was funny when the kid.....whoa! I almost forgot about the spoiler thing

I'm going to have to disagree, I think they look awesome! and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one next year...and I'll tell the salesman that I want the awesome version of it, exactly like that.

Depending on the specs, I'm interested in obtaining one, too. That doesn't mean it isn't hideous, though I'm one of those function over form people when it comes to cars, though.

Up until '74, they were still decent. The 67-69 models were still the best.

Bob Dole agrees with whoever suggested they ought to just re-create the Gen 1 with modern materials and tech.

Kind of like Dodge is doing with the Challenger.

Just got back from the late showing and I have to say this was the best movie I have seen in at least 10 years. If you don't see this movie you are really missing out.

Question For The Transformer Informed ...

Near the end of the movie, when the cube thing transformed the coke machine and other items into transformers, why did those items all turn into the evil version of transformers beings instead of the good version of transformer beings? I assumed that, because their home planet was good until the megatron guy went south, the default version of a robot guy was "good" not "bad".

I am going to chalk it up to them not really thinking about it...

Well unless Megs somehow changed it permanently because when they were siphoning the power from it in the room all seem to be evil...

When Iron Hide was commenting "why should we help the humans, because they are a primitive species who innately want to destroy themselves" then Optimus then comments "Were we so different?"
This could be refering to how transformers when they were first created were mindless or primal being which objective was to survive until they "evolved" concerning there intelligence.

Those explanations all make good sense. Thanks guys.

I have to tell you that, as one of the non-transformed, I thought the movie was great. Not as good as the new Die Hard, but well worth the price of admission and more.

I imagine that if you were familiar with the "history" or back story, you would appreciate it more. But, they pulled it off for the uninformed, so they get a minus three p*ssy fart rating from me and that's real good.
