Vermeil on MNF

Love this guy. Dick for GM.

His endorsement of Reid is enough for me to want The Walrus in KC.

Even knowing how things played out with Sanchez busting, I'd still rather have had us take him at 3 than trade for Cassel.

It's not like Sanchez was an anchor of those two Jets playoff teams that went to championship game, he played well in big games...but has definitely regressed since.

Of course not. I've owned up to my past preference for Fat Scott as GM and McDaniels as HC back in 2009. Many were taken in by the Bernie Madoff-caliber fraud that was Fat Scott, myself included.

The point is dumbshits like DaneMcVagina, Hamas, etc. refuse to ever admit they are wrong.

Just look at DaneMcVagina in this thread trying to spin a positive out of his epic fail prediction that Mark Sanchez would succeed in the NFL.

I'll own up to that, too. I wanted us to sign Jeff Garcia to compete with TT with in camp and then draft Sam Bradford in 2010 and for us to either take Orakpo or Crabtree with our pick.

In retrospect, that might have what was best for this team...

Thigpen was extremely raw and had a limited ceiling, but the offense hasn't been as productive in the 4 years since, either.

Also DaneMcVagina still gushes over Herm as a "good head coach" even AFTER having the hindsight of seeing how he ran both the Chiefs and Jets into the ground.

Seriously how much of a dumbshit do you have to be to still praise Herm, AFTER seeing how he destroyed two franchises?

Sanchez has had far more success that Cassel.

Who knows how different Sanchez plays out in the Midwest with a fanbase like ours instead of the Jets fanbase and media...maybe he would have continued to improve with Haley as his head coach instead of Ryan, who is a players coach.

Herm was a bad gameday coach, but I also think he gets villianized unfairly for a host of things.

The guys teams made the playoffs every single year his quarterback stayed healthy for the Jets and the 2006 team made the playoffs even though he lost Trent in the opener and played the year with Huard. He took the fall for a ground up rebuild and I have little doubt the team would be much better rift now if he retained over what we have had to deal with the last 4 years...the guy was getting talent through the draft and getting them on the field. His teams also rarely got blown out, even though they were a bunch of kids.

Sanchez rode the coattails of a great defense and running game his first two years in New York.

Look at Sanchez the last two seasons when the Jets have tried to open up the offense... epic fail.

Sanchez career stats: 67 TDs, 61 INTs, 55.3 completion %, 73.7 QB rating
Cassel career stats: 82 TDs, 57 INTs, 58.9 completion %, 80.4 QB rating

Both are shit. At least with Cassel the Chiefs are done with him and can rid themselves of him after this season.

Sanchez and his guaranteed $8.5 million will be more difficult for the Jets to get rid of.

JFC another Herm apologist.

As far as Herm's teams "rarely getting blown out"... remember Pittsburgh 45-7 and Indy 23-8 over the Chiefs in Herm's first season? Remember Houston 20-3, Denver 27-11, and Denver 41-7, in Herm's second season? Remember the Raiders 23-8, Atlanta 38-14, Carolina 34-10, Tennessee 34-10, and Buffalo 54-31, in Herm's third season?

That represents 20% of the total games Herm coached in KC... blow outs.

The fact Herm didn't suck as bad as Fat Scott's Haley/Romeo tragic reign doesn't mean anything.

Herm was an epic failure... case closed.
