That’s another factor in all of this that’s awesome. Not everyone can pull it off and make it fit. But our Chiefs just say hold my beer and turn it into great or at least productive results and contributors and you just can’t help but smile and love every bit of it. And after awhile you just recognize it where in the past you might be pissed or a bit confused on a pick

Bigger Danna when Danna is at his best. Danna has played plenty of snaps at DT from his central Michigan then Michigan day continued through KC. At 6’2 255 that’s so remarkable. He has had calf pulls and strains and missed time and it makes plenty of sense why. Which coach loved Danna most? Brenden Daly. They had plenty of these different types of DL when he came over from the pats to rejoin Spags. They did a ton of DL games and stunts which came here with him. He of course has moved to coach LBs and has excelled giving his 2 cents to get his point across how they could utilize a Chenal and done a fine job developing LBs. The chemistry this coaching and scouting staffs and how well they work together is outstanding. They take risks and gambles and aren’t perfect but they are a Steelers type setup where they just make so many picks that fit and work out or a ravens type where drafting and development is just so damn easy to them. KC has a bit of both of those and damn it’s been beautiful to watch this build into great success and just continues to grow even with challenges and bumps in the road

I really like this pick. Big Louisville homer, almost as big as my love for the Chiefs. Seen damn near every game he’s played at UofL. Can’t wait to see him next year playing for KC. Ashton pops off the tape every time I watch em. Certainly a guy you want.

I think the kid will get stronger as the training staff works on him. Furious George is already one of his buddies. He should be able to help the kid learn, and Tamba Hali is always willing to come in and work with our rush guys to help them learn how to defeat a blocker. I like this pick a lot.

Watching more of this kid...I see really good instincts. He's FAST off the snap, has a plan. Sets the blocker up and makes his move. Not real bendy, but a nice dip. And he closes SO fast.

I think we've got ourselves a good one.

He reminds me a hair of Bolton once he commits. Very fast movement to the ball.

Higher ceiling version of Karlaftis. Similar size but much better lateral agility, first step and hand usage.

This kid was a potential first rd pick for this draft a year ago. ESPN’s Jordan Reid put a piece out on him.

He’s going to get playtime this year unless Felix finally turns it on and produces

I will expect to see him a lot if that's the case.

Haven’t seen anything on him until we drafted him. So I’m not claiming to have watched a bunch of film or anything.

But he does seem like a guy who can come in as a rookie and not be a hindrance. I think he’ll be able to set a nice edge. Even with his length limitations

I cannot get this guy out of my head. I didn’t look close enough at him pre-draft bc I though his arms and hands would be too short but that’s not hurt him at all.

I think everybody else in this class minus Simmons can be a good impact player, but goddamn man. I really think this kid could be a blue chipper.

I can’t believe this guy fell to 66. His sack numbers were lower but he only had 1 feeer pressure than his breakout 2023 season. Maybe part of it was his arms and hands being smaller/shorter.

Either way I’m glad he fell bc I think this kid could be special.

Actually, some draft experts think he was picked a round earlier than anticipated. I don't care about these expertly opinions. Shit, Mike Dana didn't even have a draft profile and he turned into a really good player for us.
When drafting a defensive lineman, you always take into consideration important traits such as flexibility (where you line them up), pressures created, character/leadership, etc. He was highly productive in pressures created in back-to-back seasons and has the abbility to play inside which would help against the run.

He'll, most likely be Tamba's next pupil

Yeah - I had him as a late 3rd sort of player as well. He went about a round earlier than I expected, but I absolutely wanted him here in KC and thought he was an excellent fit.

And when you're in the draft room and you want the guy and would be more annoyed by losing him than you would be relieved taking someone else and sliding down a round, go ahead and grab him.

It's why I have a hard time with a direct comparison of my draft to Veach's because I am positive I'd have taken Royals before he did. Sitting there at the early 3rd and DEFINITELY in the late 3rd I'd have thought "Man, I'll be pretty pissed off at myself if he gets sniped before I scoop him up..."

So if I'd have taken Simmons in the 1st, I'd have absolutely gone with ONL and then Royals with the next 2 picks, tried to get Gillotte with the late 3rd and then lost out on Williams.

But who the hell knows how that all could've/would've worked out?

I feel like this one is flying under the radar. It was for me, anyways.

Watched his clips with fresh eyes, and... holy shit, man. His strength and speed combo is absurd. The way he just mows through guys to get to his destination is crazy impressive. He collapses pockets.

A 3rd & long with Karloftis, Jones, ONL, and Gillotte all rushing could be a death sentence. And with a fresh Omenihu, FAU and Danna rotating in, we should have no problems generating pass rush this year.
