Offenses or defenses?

GB is actually worse than we thought. Kurt Warner's analysis of Baker's performance vs. GB's defense is eye-opening. Makes losing to them a couple months ago a little more embarrassing, tbh.

I posted it before, but I think as long as Purdy doesn't have some career-type game where he just comes out on fire, we'll be fine. We'll be in a position to win at the end, which about all one can ask for.

Anyway, it'll be an interesting chess match there.

It’s a style thing that’s driving the confidence here, more than anything else.

The 49ers have been pretty solidly a static zone team that doesn’t do a lot of creative things and that doesn’t do complicated disguises.

And if they switch it up and go man, they don’t have a LB or S they can match up against Kelce, and their coverage unit outside of Ward is not good.

And to build on that, and maybe this is just my thought, but it feels like the defenses that give KC the most trouble are the ones who are excellent in the secondary. A great pass rush isn’t enough. Mahomes knows how to work around that and then find the open receiver wherever they are.

This SF unit is leaky on that back end. I can’t recall Mahomes ever struggling or even close to it against a group like that.

I don’t know about everyone else, but the second week in between the AFCCG and Super Bowl seems to go a little faster to me.

The first week feels like a longer wait. It already feels like that Baltimore game was a month ago.

Maybe it’s just me.

The first week was long and the next one will be longer. Patience is not one of my virtues.

Just remember it's not over after the Super Bowl.

If this year taught us anything it's that this is a never-ending celebration.
