Good rebuttal. Keep talking trash on coaching hires when the mighty nubs hire a guy that just put up a losing record.

Huh? Buehler seems pretty smart to me. Ill disagree that Callahan wrecked NU, as they were really wrecked by Steve Pedersen the AD who fired Solich. And all he did was win 9 or 10 games a year. Like Callahan. Like Bo. Like Tom Osborn.

It's not hard to remember when NUBBZ wanted "Dr. Tom" fired when he couldn't bring home the title. And they did want him canned. Then he turned up the the cc's on the steroid syringes and looked away when the guns and assaults and rapes happened and lo and behold he won two titles and was voted into the office.

Nebraskans...Gene Havkman said it best in Unforgiven: "Hell, I even thought I was dead 'til I found out it was just that I was in Nebraska".

Old Man Snyder followed the identical blueprint and he got voted into the college hall of fame. What's the diff?

It wouldn't surprise me. KU basketball has such a tradition that the AD is most irrelevant. But after shelling out big bucks to Weis, who failed, and hiring a relative unknown, I'd wager he's gone if he fails to get his team bowl eligible.

That said, it should be fairly easy to get them to at least 5 wins next season. Recruit the JUCO's hard, while signing three star recruits for the future. If he's even halfway competent on the field and recruiting trail, it should be a no-brainer.

I didn't come here to talk smack but there's a big difference.

He was 13 games over at Oregon State and turned down Alabama, USC (twice), UCLA, and Wisconsin. To compare him to a 9 year WR coach is laughable.

Funny, that quote could seamlessly be replaced with kansas, given those states are very similar. And living in Omaha or Lincoln is much different than living in the smaller towns that have nothing going on.

Also, Riley didn't have this:

Be sure to note the 5 national titles at the end. Whether you want to admit it or not, we have tradition and history that KU, Mizzou, and KSU can't buy. That makes a huge difference in recruiting.

Also of note: KU's last conference championship was in 1968 . I did not know that until my buddy who went to KU told me that.

Yes it could and yes they are. I've never failed to have fun in any the old Big 8 college towns I've been through. Although I've never been Ames.

Agreed. Except I have been to Ames, and that was my least favorite (sorry ISU fans). I won't go into detail. That was also 5ish years ago, so maybe it's better.

Big difference in the shit talking. And you're also not saying dumbshit things like "NU will NEVER be a wreck" or whatever he said.

NU got the better coach sure. But is he as much better of a coach than NU is of a program? I doubt it. Surely not enough that I'd come into a KU thread and talk shit about it.

Many corn-f'ers are depressed about the past decade or so and they're lashing out at everyone they can find. In 2000 it would be inconceivable they'd be bragging to Kansas fans about football but that's where we are at now

You have no idea what you're talking about. An average coach can win 9 games at Nebraska just with our talent advantage alone. But when talent was matched, Bo shit the bed. Riley, on the other hand, was tasked with winning despite talent deficiencies at oregon state.

The simple mother****ers are looking at record to compare the two. You haven't shown you are any more than that.
