I'm relieved to say that Jamaal's season average is now back above 5.0, and has actually leapt to 5.4. It's still well below his career average, but higher than the career average of EVERY OTHER RUNNING BACK WHO HAS EVER PLAYED IN THE NFL.

It's starting to become a legitimate debate.
For the time being, I think Brown still wins it. He played 9 seasons while Charles only has 5 under his belt so far, and Brown was used more heavily. He has more than triple the number of rushes while playing in less than twice as many games, and also played in an era where defenses were more geared against the rush and blocking rules were more strict. (I think you could also tackle a guy by the face mask in those days.) However, let's revisit this in three more seasons. Charles is quietly putting together one of the finest NFL careers ever. His yards per carry is so much better than anyone else's that it's almost unbelievable.

So if we need something to root for, 100 yards will give Jamaal the 4th-highest single-season rushing yards in team history, and 160 will get him up to 3rd. He needs 334 yards in to move into the #1 spot, though Larry Johnson had 145 more carries.

No kidding, get a couple of speedy WR's that can catch the ball with a good TE & a possession WR, Charles can pick his traffic lanes to fly on.

Fun fact: Jamaal is in sole possession of 2nd place all-time in runs of 80+ yards. He's got 4, no one else has more than 3 except for Chris Jonson's 6.

If this current offense had a legitimate QB and possibly another receiving threat opposite Bowe, they'd be damn near impossible to stop.
