Ya, because footwork and speed are not that important for a CB.

Good thing we got Routt instead of keeping Carr.

Well, maybe it's just that I don't care that much, but I'm not going to meltdown just yet. We all had this pegged as either a loss or a tough game going all the way back to the end of last season and that was before we lost Hali, Flowers and Lewis.

To remain optimistic, the offense showed up nicely in the first half. They were passing downfield like we've never seen and converting 3rd downs left and right. Charles is still great and the offensive line looked good as well.

The way I look at the season, it's broken up in 4 quarters. We just dropped an L on a quarter of probably the least important quarter of the season (get it?). The first and second games are not terribly important in the grand scheme of things.

We just need to get rid of Cassel. I think the team has zero faith in him and that's the reason we self-destruct so fast after a small mistake or momentum shift. For you Pioli/Cassel haters, the good news is Cassel was getting booed by the 3rd quarter. It's obvious the fan base is tired of him and doesn't believe he can win anything. That, coupled with the fact that the stadium was pretty empty, tells me that there's going to be an EXTREME amount of pressure on the front office to get another QB in here, and most likely not another retread.

The defense will be better. Depth is a neg issue. Cassell played a good first half, better than expected. Overachieving or a raised standard? Dunno. I think we can beat Buff, Tampa, and Sandyeggo. 3-3 to the bye.
