I liked Cottom, he was just very injury prone. But ok.

Whatever herm did to get us some talent, it cannot be ignored that he turned the chiefs from an incredibly exciting team to one of the most boring identity-less pieces of shit in the nfl.

I don't care if Dick Vermeil never won us a superbowl, just like I don't care that Montana never won us a superbowl. All I know is that those were fantastic times to be a chiefs fan.

How can anyone not have loved that chiefs team if they ever watched the games? Almost every weekend was a reason to be excited and my goodness, that offense was amazing. Every play we ran, run or pass, seemed to be for a 15 or 20 yard chunk. And they did it even though every player seemed to have been a castoff deemed not good enough for some other team. It was like a real life version of the Bad News Bears... complete with the unfortunate ending. And also, vermeil probably gave the players wine to drink instead of beer.

I don't know about GM, but Vermeil was a magnificent bastard as a head coach.

That's good, because in 06 and 07 Herm missed on pretty much every pick except the first round.

The 08 draft I don't really credit him much. It was a deep draft and he had a huge wad of picks after we traded one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. It was a good year to have a ton of picks. A lot of good players in that 08 draft.

The biggest flaw in Herm's plan was to release anyone with more than 4 years experience and start a bunch of UFA's that were really no more than practice squad players... if that. Also, all of the dipshits who thought Huard was better than Green.

How you can say with a straight face that Herm has a "good eye for talent" when he picked Brodie Croyle to be the Chiefs QBOTF.

The most important position in the NFL... Herm looked at Croyle and thought he was a legit NFL QB.

Croyle was injury prone in college. It didn't take a genius to figure out he wouldn't be able to physically survive in the NFL.

Yet Herm and his alleged "great eye for talent" thought otherwise.
