Those were the EASY ones. Miami 92 [the FIRST phantom hold], Indy 95 and Denver 97 were MUCH worse.

Even 2003 was worse than the last 3

Sadly I think this might be the case only because we have grown to expect these outcomes in the playoffs. We have no illusions anymore.

Nothing will every hurt me more than the Miami phantom hold game. I imagine it's like your first prison rape. After the first few they start to run together.

This is right. Although Miami was the '90 season, IIRC.

Yes you are a young man and if you continue to follow this team and the NFL as a whole take one bit of advice from this old(er) man.Don't let it get you too down(been there and done that in the 90's) and don't ever be surprised what you may see from phantom calls to blatant rule violations with a slap on the wrist to BS concussion protocol standards for some and not others.

It was a hold, still should of not been called, but a hold. Blame Eric and Andy. One got beat like a drum the other couldn't find himself out of a wet paper bag. The team performance like most of the season were not prepared and that is on coaches and team leaders.

What is holding is defined by what is actually called on the field. By empirical evidence, Fisher's block is not holding 90% of the time. Fisher would be a fool not to resort to that if he was found in an unfavorable position. NFL officiating has created a situation where players can't be certain of what is legal and illegal. Rules are enforced arbitrarily. The officials are the deciders.

That exact thing happened to Houston 3 times vs. Denver.

There were a ton of holding penalties the whole game but if they call none at least it's even. Same thing for PI.

But when you suddenly call one in the most important play of the game?

WTF?...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
