I don’t think they don’t feel he fits the defense. If they did, tagging him and potentially paying a guy that doesn’t fit 15 mil is dumb and too risky

They're going to pay him like a top 5 pass rusher THIS YEAR. He's already a top 5 pass rusher. He's either worth it or he's night. Why are you hedging?

Reid and Veach aren't idiots.

The front office knows that the window on Mahomes' rookie contract is tight. They are going all in for the next couple years. They're not going to just let Houston and Ford go if it isn't part of a bigger plan to drastically improve the defense immediately.

I'm going to trust their judgement until i'm given a reason not to.

Consistency.

I've argued that since LAST season.

I think we all had a strong inclination that Ford would do well last season. It was a contract year and the first time he really stayed healthy.

Do it again.

Nope. I've never once mentioned Flowers. Sorry.

Quite frankly, I'm not that worried about replacing their production. I'm more worried about getting some production out of a non-existent secondary and not interested in paying exorbitant sums to people that can't fix that.

So you want to tag him to see if he can stay healthy again but if he does get hurt, they literally have ZERO pass rush and no money to shore up anything else.
