Which drugs have you used recreationally?

There’s a debate in DC right now that’s got me a bit curious about the people’s drug use.

I’m going to play fast and loose on what is considered a drug and how they’re grouped/separated. If you have tried any of these options, even once, please note it in the poll options.

Also, feel free to discuss anything drug related as non-politically as possible.

I ended up getting stomach surgery it got so bad. My metabolism is slower than a snail's now and it sucks.

I can see that. My weight has fluctuated my entire life, so I'm kind of used to it. Meth ****ed up my sleep. I got out of the Air Force and would literally go to bed at 2 or 3 in the morning and sleep until early afternoon on my days off. Now, I can't ****ing fall asleep and I have to take CBD/Melatonin to get 6-7 hours.

Grew up in a small town where even weed was considered the devil. So didn’t experiment with anything until about 23-24.

Weed about a dozen times. Would maybe give it a chance more if i wasn’t so paranoid about a random drug test at work. So far.. it’s okay. I know people swear by it. But doesn’t do much for me

Coke 4-5 times. I’m fine if I never do it again. The last time I did this only took one line and started to have a panic attack because it felt like my throat was closing.

Molly prob a dozen times. I’ll never forget my first time rolling. God it’s awesome. Would recommend to anyone looking to experiment. Pretty much just a concert drug tho

Shrooms 4-5 times. Got into it late because I always was terrified of hallucinating. I missed out. Don’t like heavy doses, but if it’s a reasonable dosage it’s a good time

Nicotine/Tobacco/Vaping:
Started smoking cigarettes in HS. Smoked all through college until shortly after I got married the 2nd time. I got into this place where I only needed nicotine to sleep so I got down to 1 cigarette a day, right before bed, for several years. Then I quit altogether, which last about 10 years. I just couldn't shake it though and started vaping a couple of years ago. My vaping habit is pretty bad - I go through a ton of liquid and it's all 12mg which is the highest concentration they sell here.

Alcohol:
Had my first beer in HS. Drank heavily in college, especially when I lived in Germany. But I've never really been "addicted" to booze and I actually don't enjoy being drunk so I drink socially and infrequently now.

Cannabis: My 2nd love after my wife. LOL. I started smoking pot in HS, too. I've smoked it ever since - about 35 years now. I quit or smoked sparingly (and secretly) for 15 years while my kids were growing up but other than that period, I've been a daily consumer my entire adult life.

Cocaine: Snorted my share but that's the extent of cocaine for me. No freebasing, no injecting, no crack.

Meth: This was the worst for me and I already mentioned what it's like. You start out feeling like a super hero and end up looking like Gollum. Fortunately for me, I had an opportunity to move to a country where it simply wasn't a "thing", which forced me to kick it cold turkey. Haven't done any meth in over 20 years and that include ADHD meds, which I have been on.

Inhalants: The extent of my huffing was Whip It's but dear God do I love those things. One, the make everything intensely weird for about 20 seconds. We use to call it "talking to Mr. Wavy Man" because everything had like strobe effect and it wasn't just light, it was sound too.

Shrooms: Yes, please. Actually had a bite of a shroom candy bar recently. It was fun but I don't do shrooms on the regular anymore.

LSD: I've actually done more LSD more than shrooms. Overall, I'd say 90% of my trips were positive, fun experiences. That 10% thought can be some awful shit at the time you're going through it. The hangover usually isn't fun either, it makes your back hurt something fierce. I honestly don't think I could do it at my age and still have fun so I've never tried.

Mescaline: Tried it once, very confusing. Can't remember anything really either.

Prescription Opioids: Hasn't everybody taken them at this point? If not illegally, surely you've had a script. Some doctors still hand them out like candy. Hell, my daughter got 7 days of oxy for having her wisdom teeth out. I've never abused them recreationally but I've taken quite a few over the years.

Benzos: More on this later, but I have taken prescription benzos of every sort. I've abused them on occasion but mostly I've gotten them from docs. I've taken Ativan, Valium, Xanax, and Clonopin that I can remember.

Molly: Only once. Felt too much like meth for me. Not sure I'd do it again.

Speed: As explained earlier, if you've done meth, you've done "speed". Before I was introduced to meth, we used to take white crosses, which I think were pure ephedrine.

Other: So this is where my story really starts. I started having issues at about 13 or 14 which prompted my parents to send me to a shrink. Since that time 37 years ago, I've taken probably 3 dozen SSRI's, MAOI's, antipsychotics, and other "mood" meds, including the aforementioned benzos and Adderall.

MY STRUGGLES WITH DRUG ADDICTION STARTED IN A PHARMACY.\

My very first script was an MAOI - amitryptilene. I was supposed to take it at bedtime but I had insomnia too so many times, I couldn't fall asleep until after it had really kicked in. It was a weird form on euphoria that I felt, I can't really place it now after all these years, I just know it didn't take me long to figure out I could take a couple in the middle of the day and have "fun". With a couple of years, I was drinking, smoking, and smoking weed. A couple of years later, it was coke and then meth. And I continued to abuse prescription psychiatric drugs the whole time as well.

So there it is - my story is an open book.

You know me, i've never been one to give two ****s about over-sharing, so i'll go too:

Nicotine/Tobacco/Vaping:
Done it a few times. Never understood the allure. Does nothing for me. Tastes like a bum's asshole and mostly just gives me a headache.

Alcohol:
Didn't really start drinking until my early 20's. Had my first taste around 4 years old when my dad offered me a Budweiser. For the most part, it's neither here nor there for me. Call me a social drinker i guess. When i do drink, i prefer liquor over beer. Not really into beer at all anymore, but i order different alcoholic beverages depending on the time and setting. Beers have their place, but it's usually at a BBQ or at the beach or something. And yeah, i dont enjoy being drunk unless im ****ing. And i'm really good at finding my buzz and staying in that zone, which means i can drink enough to make sex last all night, while also not drinking too much and getting whiskey dick.

Cannabis:
I don't think i need to explain this one. We pretty much all know this is about. I toke in the morning before going to work, and then i sess when i get home and unwind. I'm kind of a boujee pot head. Pretty much everything i smoke these days is some sort of infused this or that, "Liquid Diamonds" and "Sauce" and all that other bullshit. Rarely do i smoke just weed.

Inhalants:
Whip-It's. Super short head rush, makes sex feel incredible 30 seconds at a time. If you've never orgasimed after a whip-it hit.....ooooweee that's a super strong nut. Liquored up and hitting whip its while you **** makes you let off porn star sounds. Same with Poppers. Stumbled across those at a porn shop years ago. Found out recently it's a popular drug with the gays. It's basically a more potent whip-it.

Shrooms:
Love/Hate relationship. Depends on the micro-dose and what you're doing. It heightens your emotions to an uncontrollable level. Of course, Sex is amazing on it. Me and the Wife took shrooms a couple of anniverseries ago, got us a nice hotel with a hot tub etc and ****ed all night. Went through a myriad of different trips. ****ed and felt like i was the literal god of Sex. Put on a Rob Zombie movie afterwards and felt like i could potentially be a serial killer, which kinda worried me. Chilled in the hot tub, felt like i couldnt feel the bottom. I swear that hot tub was 10' deep. Wife wanted to watch some weird ass Beyonce music movie thing....BIG MISTAKE. Shit had me trippin balls.

Tried gaming on shrooms once another BIG Mistake. Had one bad match and i swear it took me like 2 hours to get un-pissed.

Another Love/Hate relationship. Absolutely hate rolling. Like Htis said, too methy feeling. Eyes rolling into the back my head while i lay on the couch guzzling water and OJ. NOT my thing at all. Hate it. But once you come down from the first few hours....nothing else in this world feels anything like it.

...the Sex...amazing of course. The slightest touch to the skin is just....euphoric. EVERYTHING is euphoric on MDMA. Everything. You have no idea your body and mind are capable of even feeling that way. At times, it feels so good it's practically an out of body experience. You can pretty much **** alllll night on it. Never sweated during sex the way i did on molly, that's for sure.

Problem i have with it though is that unlike other substances, i can't control when i cum. Matter of fact, might **** all night and never cum at all. Which totally sucks.

I see signs for it all of the time at the run down convenience stores. Not sure what it really is but it doesn't seem like something I would be interested in.

My dad told me a very wild story about the last time he did mushrooms. He was probably early 50s or so and him and my uncle were both sitting behind his house. The neighbors across the road had a hen house a couple hundreds yards away. Anyhow he said it was like 3 in the morning and a fox or raccoon or something got in there and slaughtered the whole lot. Got to listen to dozens of chickens being murdered while tripping and said it’s stuck in his brain forever lol.
