Will 9-11 help the Jets this Sunday?

Its a pretty emotional day for New Yorkers... Think it will be extra motivation for them? This is the first Sunday to fall on 9-11...

This will be the first 9-11 that I won't feel sorry for them... well just Jet fans. Im still saddened by the whole 9-11 deal... but that isnt gonna mean shit come kickoff.

I guess it might depend on how much the stadium does pregame in regards to 9/11.

I remember the Giants game after 9/11/01, where the pregame ceremony seemed to really subdue the fans. I don't see it having that effect this year though.

Personally, I think the players play just as hard regardless of the sentimental issues.

I think its just plain wrong for you guys to even begin to link 9/11 to football. I have lost neighbors and family members and to this day, everytime I see 9/11 footage i ball. Football is a game, 9/11 affected millions of New Yorkers and Americans because it was the greatest tradgedy in this great nations history. I'm sorry if you midwestern guys dont understand, but 9/11 is not even close to a giggleing matter up here. The game sunday will be played on the grass at arrowhead and everything else will be out the door. No, 9/11 will not "pump" the jets up or have them play with any extra emotion. Sorry if we are not allowed to discuss 9/11 here in the Midwest. Also, you are way off base. We are discussing IF it will be connected to the football game. I myself would prefer that it wasn't since we don't really see how it can help our team.

I'm NOT trying to link the two date 9/11/01 and 9/11/05.
I just hope the media centers in the USA (NY) being one of them tries it.

Yeah it's was bad and effected everyone in America. I'm not giggling about it.

Your network guys tried it after 9/11/01, to push their teams as local games here whenever possible. Our games would get bumped for viewing. According to our local network affilates, 'orders from NY'.

I'm not mocking it. Just reminding how the 'TV network' tried to make everyone like their teams just because they were from NY.

I think that network stunt had the opposite effect to the rest of us in 'fly over' America.

BTW.Cmart28 Lets hope the Chiefs just Kick the Jets a$$ on 9/11.

It very well could. I'm pretty sure that was the basis of this thread.... people's opinions on how 9/11 and the memories will affect the jets. No one is making a mockery of 9/11. Take a deep breath.

The kids that were there that will never see their mother or father or both again. Probably would't matter anyway.

What is next screw the hurican victims over if we can make the playoffs. Sorry New Yorkers he doesn't speak for all of us. Maybe if this numbnut was there on the last day they took down the steel cross like I was. Maybe if he saw the line of victims clothes found in the rubble and posted with their pictures. Maybe if he saw the number of firefighters names spray painted on the wall that never came home. Maybe if he witnessed the people standing in the rain crying as they took the cross down. The kids that were there that will never see their mother or father or both again. Probably would't matter anyway. Hey good luck on Sunday guys, football doesnt even matter in the big picture.
