How are you declaring the Rays the winner when they played both the Twins (Rays tied Twins 3-3 on the season) and White Sox (Chicago outscored them 37 to 35 but won only four of ten) fairly even through 2008? Tampa has not dominated either of these teams.

I tend to agree with you. TB is going to have to play well to beat either team. They sure didn't put up much of a fight against Detroit when they just needed one game to clinch their first ever AL East title. Any team can win a short 5 game series and thats what makes the post season so fun.

It's always tough to get that first division flag.

In 1976 the Royals were limpng home down the stretch blowing a 10 game lead at the ASB and had to go to Oakland to beat the A's, who were coming off a close loss in the AL playoffs to the Red Sox in 75 and prior to that had won 3 consecutive WS titles.

God bless Larry Gura. He got the W in the game that clinched it and I about died of joy.

So you don't think Tampa wants it? I think they get past the first round. They made it this far I aint gonna doubt it. Also look at what Colorado did.. They weren't the caliber of Tampa and they made it all the way to get their ass kicked.
