Fantastic ending. That two-parter was one of the best episodes they've ever done.

Caprica two-hour premiere to drop on DVD in April

Caprica, the highly anticipated prequel to Battlestar Galactica, will premiere exclusively on DVD on April 21 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, SCI FI Channel announced.

The feature-length prequel will be available on DVD as a limited-edition uncut and unrated version before the series' broadcast premiere on the SCI FI Channel in 2010.

Caprica is executive-produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) and Remi Aubuchon (24). The DVD will carry a suggested retail price of $26.98.

Universal Cable Productions will begin production on the Caprica series in the summer in Vancouver for a 2010 television premiere.

The DVD will also include bonus features that take viewers behind the scenes of the creation of Caprica.

The film will also be available at selected online destinations for digital download transactions.

Here's how SCI FI describes the series: Caprica begins a new epic saga that continues the franchise's commitment to thought-provoking storytelling and extraordinary characters. Hope Netflix picks it up like they did the Stargate movies then. No way in hell I am paying that much for a direct to DVD production. That is a load of crap.

So do you think they killed Gaeta, or used blanks to scare some sense into him? But if they did, I doubt they used blanks on Zarek.

I think they should have let Lee do the honors in executing Zarek, though. It would have been awesome for Apollo to execute Apollo!

I wonder if Ron Moore has a personal chip on his shoulder, wanting to show Rick Berman and Brannon Braga how to write a prequel.

Good episode, I'm hoping they'll be able to make an extended edition on DVD with some of the scenes that were cut. Apparently they had nearly twice as much stuff as they could use.

Nah, Gaeta is dead. You knew it as soon as he said his leg didn't bother him anymore. Like the Apollo v Apollo thing though. Heh.

Shit, I think Ron Moore is firmly entrenched as the standard in dramatic sci/fi writing. His past affiliations with the Star Trek guys may have led him to this, but we the fan are better for it, for sure.

If there were ever, EVER a TV show that would be worth purchasing the DVD series collection when it was all said and done, BSG would be it. There literally has to be hundreds of hours of footage that hasn't been used.

According to my DVR, next weeks episode is all dream/flashback stuff based in Sam's head, so it's possible she doesn't even appear in the current storyline at all (although I bet she does).
