I'm normally not crazy about sac bunts, but in this situation I'm fine with it because Coco isnt necessarily trying to sacrifice, he has the bunting and running ability to get infield hits, and if it doesnt work, you "settle" for the sacrifice.

Small ball is stupid in most situations. Bunting is only slightly more likely to advance a runner, and it gives up an out. Unless it's late in the game and you need one run to tie or win, it's the wrong play.

It would be like pulling your starter in the second inning to bring in the closer to get one out.

4th inning

Top 4th

Rolen strikes out (swinging)
Overbay hits a ground-rule-double to right *
Barajas doubles to left, Overbay scores
Snider grounds out to first 3-1, Barajas to third
Scutaro walks
Hill singles to right, Scutaro to second, Barajas scores
Rios hits an infield single to shortstop, Hill to second, Scutaro to third
Wells singles to center, Rios to second, Hill and Scutaro scores

Robinson Tejeda relieves Meche

Lind pops out to first

4 runs, 5 hits

Bottom 5th

Jacobs strikes out (swinging)
Callaspo grounds out to shortstop
Buck flies out to right

0 runs, 0 hits

* The ballboy in right mistakenly fielded a fair ball. He would have made it to second, but ruined any chance at a triple

Especially dumb in the AL.

****ing small ball in the bottom of the ****ing 3rd. Fail.

I figured Hillman argued because he was embarrassed by his own stupidity.

Guillen can only pop up the first pitch fastball he knew was coming AFTER a four pitch walk to load the bases. Brutal.

And that looked about like what I'd expect from Jacobs.
