Yeah...trying to get work to pay for it. Don't know where I would go...or if there is a good online program.

Yea just curious to see who on here are engineers. I quit my job acouple months ago, took out a student loan and am back in school for an enginerd degree. was always interested in science and never was bad at math. hated my bullshit finance job /didn't feel like it was taking me anywhere so said **** it and pulled the trigger before it was too late

Mining engineer here. Not many of us around, and there is a huge labor shortage on the horizon. I'm 33 and there are hardly any mining engineers between myself and the 55+ crowd. Pay is usually petroleum engineers, but ahead of most other kinds. Not many schools have a program, but if you're a Missouri person then there's a good program at UMR.

I'm thinking about doing pe....love geology. what you mining out in co? I was just out there and my buddy pointed out the mine right off i70 just past Floyd hill he said it was a muscovite mine...?amazing they can profit from mining a mineral like muscovite right there if that's true

LOL, no but when I retire from my current gig and it's still going on up there I'll figure out a way to get there and open a diner for the workers except that's a long way out.

That one's actually just a rock quarry, but mining nonetheless. There's not a lot of mining going on in CO these days compared to what it used to be. There are a lot of mining companies based here though. The company I work for is a private equity exploration company. We have projects around the world which is exciting and makes it a great place to work.
