Ya he just pounded em 157 yards and a TD.

The playoffs game against the Colts was loud as hell too, but I'm still bitter about that one. The freebie for the game was rolled up posters in tubes. Everyone took 2 and either banged them together or took the posters out and used the tubes as megaphones. No doubt in my mind those tubes contributed to the loudness of that game.

Especially since the jumbotron at the game never went above 112 all day.

I have no idea who said 116 was the record because they are wrong. In '97 0r '98 it was measured just under 120 by an audio crew the Chiefs use to hire to measure and record the noise level at several games a year.

Yep, I remember hearing that as well. Seems like the Chiefs PR machine is just trying to do their part to hype up this stupid event.

Another reason not to ban the strippers. We need all the noise producers we can get out there.

So, will the mini bullhorns and thundersticks be allowed? That should be the Chiefs giveaway that day.

Can you imagine the headaches everyone would have?

Didn't read the whole thread but in case anyone hasn't mentioned it... Db levels are affectively pretty heavily but air pressure/density. So if anyone is going to hope we break some record you better hope the weather helps. Personally I don't buy the 136 number for the Seahawks. I am calling shenanigans.

I read somewhere that the technology that Guiness uses to measure decibels is advanced over the devices used in even the 90's and that it collects 'relative sound' or some shit like that...rather than just the sound waves entering the device in a single point, it calculates 360 degrees of sound in an instant...which means actual decibel levels will measure larger than what they would have with technology used 15 years ago.

That factors into it. I'll see if I can track down the link.
