Junior Seau dead, probable suicide

North County Times reporting Seau "found dead by a housekeeper of a gunshot wound to the chest."

https://twitter.com/#!/LATimesfarmer...55054793560065

Junior Seau Dead Cops Investigating Shooting

Cops are currently at Seau's home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.

Seau was a beast in the NFL -- skyrocketing to fame thanks to his explosive play with the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. The USC standout was selected in the first round of the NFL draft in 1990 and played in the league for 20 years.

Seau was involved in a car accident back in 2010 when he drove his SUV off a cliff in Carlsbad, CA hours after he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. Seau later said he was not trying to kill himself ... insisting he had fallen asleep at the wheel.

hmmmm, divorce rate among the military is as high or higher, joblessness and financially stressed too. Mental health issues that lead to rising suicide rates. Hmmmmm, is there a difference we could focus on?

**** Seau, made millions, blew it, got divorced and depressed, killed himself and still makes front page news. Selfish prick. Only 43. selfish news media and selfish society.

It's true. Capitalism is depraved. Thanks for being a living, breathing example of its results, I guess?

Yup and I would do the same for a friend in that situation. I have worked with a few pt's who have botched suicide attempts. Blown off half their face, but missed their brain completely, and still lived. In that instance I do wish for their sake that they would have completed the attempt, since it is what they wanted. I definitely don't expect people to feel sorry for everyone who kills themself (I don't feel sorry for them all either) but to claim someone is suicidal because of ego, attention or because they are weak minded is down right ignorant for most cases. Mental illness, depression included, is down right scary and I would not wish that on anyone.

i just answered your questions honestly - it's better for my personal well being to let someone blow their head off than flap jaws with a faker for their attentions sake.

i can admit to being depraved, but i won't admit to being wrong, at least not here.

It's not like I'm mad at him, I just figure he got what he wanted. Although watching his mom and dad on TV almost made me mad at him. But at the end of the day, I'm starting to learn this is a mental health issue more than a selfish issue. I'm still going to reserve my sympathy for the folks he left behind to suffer for him.

Here's my question though.... We have a person(s) who is so mentally tormented that they're not thinking logically. They can't be held accountable for basically sticking up their middle finger to their kids and saying "so long, good luck"....

Yet, they have the good judgment to shoot themselves in the chest so their brain can be studied. Here he is looking out for his boys, future NFL players but screw you, family. I don't give a rip what you guys get to go through.

I am speculating, bit I think he just wanted and end to his suffering and he thought that suicide was the only way to accomplish that. Whatever it was that he was going through (and again we don't know what that was) was bad enough that nonexistence made more sense to him. I tend to think that he made an irrational decision and that he wasn't sane when he did it. I don't know. I can't speak for him.

Yeah, I can understand being mad at him for the hurt that he brought upon his family. They are now suffering and this is hard to make sense of. I think we are all a bit shocked and some of us are a bit upset by this. It's natural, it's human. I think it also human to want to assign blame for suffering. For some there is a dichotomy between emotional and intellectual understanding. We have a need to make sense of shocking events and still validate how we feel about it. Either way, I don't think anyone can really tell you what is the right or wrong way to feel about this. All we can do is discuss it.
