"Well Kyle," you may ask, " if the Chiefs offense is so bad, how are they undefeated this year?" That's an excellent question, thank you for asking. The answer is that the defense and special teams are much, much better than we thought.

I agree that Clark probably had this as a major part of his thinking of he has any pride in the family name at all. I don't agree with the bold however. In fact, soccer has more roots and growth in the U.S. than the NFL has roots in other countries. That being said, I would be interested to know what kind of ratings/following the NFL is getting from Europe. I know the biggest T.V. contract for Premier League soccer actually comes from the U.S.

There also isn't a lot of sport "time" that NBC could buy up for its new network. Soccer was all that there was. MLS actually finished 3rd in average attendance this year if that can be used to measure the increase in the sports following. U.S. national team attention sure is up. Either way, NBC paid a lot of money expecting the viewership to be there.

Me either. I like the sport, but I have a hard time watching non-national team games. In regards to the network package, I remember reading that you can actually see more Premier league games in the U.S. vs. England because of the blackouts.

After only 3 games coming off of the worst season in Chiefs history I think it is too early to pronounce this team a failure, or a return to Martyball. They are just getting started, and I think doing a lot better than most people expected at this point. Did anyone here expect them to be 3-0 at this point? This team is turning around, and turning around fast, but we don't at this point know the final result. But we do know that Reid went to 5 NFCCs and one SB, so he could potentially take this team a lot farther than Marty did. You have already decided he won't, with no evidence to support it.

Well, he didn't exactly run it into the ground... he hired the hottest name in management after Carl Peterson left and delegated everything to Pioli (or ignored, if you prefer), who then ran it into the ground.

I don't think SoC forced his hand at all when it came to making changes... the changes were made for financial reasons as much as anything else... but, maybe it was a good reminder that this isn't some apathetic fan base like San Diego or Jacksonville, and that losing year after year isn't acceptable (keep in mind, SoC started when they were only like 1-3 last season), and that fans will flock back to Arrowhead if he'd just put some effort into making a winner (not that he was unaware of that). So, he did, and they did.

Do what it takes not to completely shit on your customers (well, most years), and they'll keep buying your product year after year. Would you spend more money or give more of an effort if your product had that level of blind loyalty?
