It doesn't make virgins any more laid, starving men any more fed or poor men any more rich. In the end, we will still be Chiefs fans - mired in mediocrity wishing for more.

So, Geno Smith is awesome and the Chiefs should still draft him at number one. I don't care if we already invested 12 million and 2 second round picks on QBs.

Dorsey and Reid said they will select BPA and after Genos pro day how is he not the BPA.

Reid and Dorsey want to win. If they feel like Geno can beat out Alex Smith and feel like hr is a better option than they will choose him. If he doesnt he would be a great #2.

Geno Smith: Philadelphia Eagles workout was grueling

By Marc Sessler
Around the League Writer
Published: March 15, 2013 at 09:34 a.m. Updated: March 15, 2013 at 10:34 a.m.

The Philadelphia Eagles are doing their homework on West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith.

ESPN's Ron Jaworski spoke with Smith on Thursday at his pro day and asked the 2013 NFL Draft prospect about his recent meeting with Eagles coach Chip Kelly, general manager Howie Roseman and team owner Jeffrey Lurie.

"He said the Eagles gave him a pretty rough workout," Jaworski told WPEN-FM, via PhillyMag.com. "He threw almost a hundred balls on Monday. He said a lot of those were the movement-type throws -- sprinting right, sprinting left, coming back against the grain. A lot of those types of throws that we know in Chip Kelly's offense, he's going to demand mobility from the quarterback.

"(Smith) also said the meeting was very intense at the blackboard. ... He said he felt very comfortable with them. He seemed to think they were comfortable with him. But he said it was a pretty grueling, intense workout they put him through."

Sum it up as due diligence on the part of the Eagles, who likely won't commit their fourth-overall selection to any high-profile college quarterback on draft day.

Smith is arguably the best passer of the bunch, and Kelly wanted a one-on-one look, but there's a double purpose at play: With the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills sitting close behind in the draft order, Philly would like nothing more than to create the impression that they're considering a quarterback at No. 4. Trading down in this year's draft would be a coup.

"Trading down would be a COUP"! The dumbest words ever phrased when you need a QB. And yes, KC still needs one.

If the other teams think Philly wants Geno Smith then the other teams will trade past them not with them.

A scout I know has had Geno rated as his #1 prospect since about Jan. He thinks it's comical that others are starting to move Geno up their board.

If we hadn't traded for Alex Smith, 75% of mocks from now till the draft would have us taking Geo at 1.

More like Geno Smith wouldn't be a first round talent because **** KC, they can't have nice things.

I am starting to think Geno may be the pick here from Reid and Dorsey's background they groom QBs. Reid is west coast look at Steve Young sittin behind Joe for 2yrs., I believe Favre sat at least a year after Green Bay traded for him, Aaron Rogers sat 2 yrs., and McNabb was to sit but Pederson sucked so bad it only lasted I think 5 games. Maybe they like another QB better and trade back, pick him and get other picks but they do believe in grooming QBs. So all hope isn't dead, A.Smith has 2 yrs. on his contract Chase D. has 3yrs. so there is no true long term fix plus Andy loves to coach them up and trade QBs at least that is what he has done in the past.

Yup Dorsey's gona rape! I want a first next year if I was Dorsey. You'll get it with BUF, JAX, OAK, ARI and NYJ all interested

If we're getting a future first would much rather trade to jax, nyj, buffalo, or Arizona. I don't see a big differnce from talent from 4 to 8ish. And I feel like Philly can turn it around pretty fast
