Downloading it now.
BTW, if you actually buy the hard copy it comes with a game guide and bonus "making of" DVD. |

Just an FYI, when you go to downloadable content in the launch menu (there's a free dlc available already) there's also options for English text/subtitles and English voiceover - you don't need to download/install those (and in fact they don't work). You should have all the english stuff included in your original game install.
Haven't started to play yet, just stumbled across that when I installed last night... |

Well, I've already encountered Witcher 2's first glitch - it won't let me enter the ****ing activation code. Cursor's blinking, but when I type nothing happens. Can't be a keyboard issue since I'm typing this.
****. EDIT: Never mind - I finally just hit OK without entering it and it started doing something. Very strange. |

I read something about that last night, something to do with text size in your computer's UI or something bizarre? Hopefully you have worked it out.
I just watched the intro. Nice looking game, although we knew that much coming in. The story seems grander than TW1. |

It's fine. It was just some sort of registration patch. Playing now.

Same here. I'm a little annoyed that there doesn't seem to be a way to customize the key bindings, either. I hate using the control key for anything. Oh well. I'm enjoying it, though.

Well, one of my complaints about the original game was that Signs seemed useless (I love casting spells...). They definitely make a difference in this one. Quen alone makes a huge difference.
I'm not sure if I like the quick attack/strong attack/parry/roll combat system more or less than I liked the combo attack system of TW1, but I'm starting to get used to it. |

I've been pretty busy over the past week and haven't played this all that much, but so far I'm fairly underwhelmed. I hate the fact that you can't alter key bindings. It's also annoying that the game doesn't autosave, which is something I've become accustomed to. And the fact that you can't use potions while in combat anymore sucks ass. Plus, it just generally seems kind of clunky.
Sure it looks pretty, and the story's interesting. But quality-wise this is a big step down from BioWare or Obsidion games. |
