An open invitation

I'd like to invite ALL of the D.C. regulars to take a break from this forum while the game is on tonight.
Let's all hang out in the official game thread or the chat room and enjoy a first look at our first round draft pick and QBOTF.
We've all waited for this for a long damn time, let's enjoy it.

Even you BEP.

list of all the chiefs bars.

Went to see montys once in Santa Barb it was great.
Damn! I didn't know anybody outside of Missouri/Kansas had ever heard of the Chiefs, let alone have enough patrons to keep a Chiefs themed bar open in a place like Las Vegas or Philadelphia or something. I guess you learn something new everyday. Thanks for the link OH

I might be driving out to the Peoples Republic of California in November. Haven't decided if we are gonna fly or drive, but if we drive, might plan overnight stops around some of these bars

Pub Rock Live on Hayden road, a couple of blocks south of McDowell, east side of the street in a small strip mall. First time there...was pretty empty last night but it was preseason.

Not the best sports bar I've ever been to. Their menu was a list of six items on a 6" x 6" piece of paper...3 of which items they were out of...at 6:00 on a Friday.

Beers from the tap were served in 12oz plastic cups which is a nice touch if you're looking for that dorm room kegger experience. Craft beers were 4 bucks and a selection of about 4 craft beers. You could buy a bucket of 6 iced down domestic beers for 10 bucks I think.

They have a booth were a guy plays (loudly) sound effects from actual Arrowhead (...and that's another Kansas City Chiefs first down, etc.) and unfortunately liked to make a lot of commentary during the game. Personally I found this annoying, but the regulars dug it...tomahawk chop going on, all that jazz.

For those who enjoy a little eye candy...this ain't your place (at least not last night). Maybe different when it's crowded but I doubt it.

I've never been one of those "jump out of your seat and yell" kind of fan. I clap when the Chiefs make a nice play and an occassional "YES!" when we make a big play...and a bit of bitching when there's a bad call, but for the most part I'm pretty reserve.

It was nice to see the Chiefs have a spot in the area but I don't think I'll make it a habit...maybe a couple of the home games, but I don't think I fit into that scenario very well. If you're into that back slapping and high fiving kind of thing, you'll probably love it.

I've never taken in a Chiefs game there either because of similar sounding stories.

Not my kind of crowd.

Besides, plenty of good sports bars will usually have most of the games on, with a few Chiefs fans to be found.....not that I care to mingle with most of them.
