Sandbox football is gearing up - room for new owners.

Hi all,

For those of you who haven't participated, our Sandbox Simulations football game had a good initial test, and we're gearing up for Season Two now. We have some openings for new team owners, and the current leagues will be free forever since we're still beta testing.

The league works like this:

1. You get a team. Since we're in Season Two, you will be hired to run an existing team as coach/owner.
2. The teams currently have their end of year rosters from 2011, so you'll be able to do a fair bit of rebuilding. We'll hold the 2012 rookie draft and a veteran free agent acquisition, and then we'll conduct a season. You'll build a full 53-man roster.
3. The seasons are just like NFL football. You'll develop a general offensive and defensive philosophy and game plan for your team, and you'll deal with lineup shuffles as players get injured. Each week you'll get a play by play to see how your team fared.
4. The season is played on an accelerated basis so we should be done with it before the real NFL training camp starts. At that point we'll hold a 2013 rookie draft, and you'll be able to pick up veteran free agents over the course of the real NFL season.
5. Repeat as desired.

It's quite fun, actually, and the game engine works superbly. It's quite enjoyable to pull up the play by play and watch the game unfold, and to grumble as you have to shuffle lineups when injuries occur.

We'll be going commercial with the game at some point soon, but the two beta leagues will always be free. You'll be like George Halas with the Bears - at some point these franchises will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.*

So if you're interested, let me know here and I'll assign you to a team. As with the real NFL, you don't have control over the team you inherit, so your challenge may be maintaining a powerhouse or more likely rebuilding a team that was managed poorly - you know, like the Chiefs.

* - Financial performance not guaranteed.

Here's the thread that started it all: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=248221

If you want to play,

Those who want to play need to:

1. Post in this thread and we'll confirm whether a team is currently available.
2. Register on http://sandboxsimulations.com using the access code: 6Lanier3
3. Follow the registration procedure until you get to the screen where you select your team name. STOP HERE WITHOUT PICKING A TEAM NAME.
4. Once Rain Man assigns you a team, and you have completed through step 3, PM cdcox or post in this thread and cdcox will connect the existing team with your user account
.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Go ahead and register according to post 29.

League 2 has an LA team that is available. Once we verify that we have enough teams available, you can have that team.

I'm registered under Trndobrd. On second thought, Oakland seems like a much better place to have a team....

Honestly, I'm not that picky on location as long as the City floats me some low interest, tax-free bonds, picks up the tab for all improvements around the new stadium, and a 20 year property tax abatement.

I need notice from the following owners that they are playing this year, or whether they are ceding their team. Our records show that these folks haven't yet logged in to look at their rosters and start building their draft board. Please let us know if you're going to participate (the draft is coming up fast) or if we need to give your team to another willing owner.

League 2:

Pompano Beach Pandas - ozona
Lexington Akitas - tyoung509
Fort Collins Horseteeth - magichef
Rancho Cucamonga Red Rage - dtforever
Little Rock Nine - kstater
Seattle Undertakers - andchiefs
Oklahoma City Outlaws - jreid18
Wichita Shox - Shox
Kansas City Fubar - Shorman22
Pembroke Pines Patteeus - Patteeu
Waco Compound Fires - Sully
Round Rock Tamba Tornados - Stanley Nickels
Topeka Thugs - KCChiefsman
Sioux Falls Swagger - Hootie2485

If I don't hear from you in this thread or via pm, I'll assume that your team is up for grabs and could give it away. Let me know before this tragedy strikes.

I'll update League 1 when I'm back home. I'm traveling right now.
I will play. My team is in bold

Ok.

It's been working on my phone, so I'm in. Now, since my team apparently won the division without me last season, we'll see if I make them better or worse.
