Do I need to worry about crowds for a 10:30am imax showing tomorrow?

Check and see if you can buy your tickets ahead of time. Also, check and see if they do reserved seating.

I can tell you that my theater, 8 weeks later, even though it's already made the most money in history, is still selling out some "Avatar" shows (namely mid-day weekends, and evening shows). Since Monday's a holiday yours might be busy, although 10:30am is pretty frigging early (my first show isn't until 11:30am).

dunno ... but about that early but i went to see Avatar last night at 6 p.m. We got there at 5:30 and were about 30th in line. Then 10 minutes later there were another 40 people behind us.

When finally let us in to sit down the dang theatre filled up in less than 5 minutes and all the groups that came in later has to split up to find seats.

this was all before the movie was suppose to even start at 6 p.m.

yeah it is avatar. Figured I might was well see that it is all about. Cracks me up that it is cheaper to see it in KC on an Imax screen than to watch it in topeka on a much smaller screen.

Don't get me started. This has been happening to me every frigging show. I rush around to get the projector ready, I look out into the theater 5 minutes to showtime and it's mostly empty, then I get a call to hold the film for 5 extra minutes past start time (i.e. 10 minutes from when I'm looking at the mostly-empty theater) and, sure enough, 300 people pour in. Can't you f**king moviegoers show up early for something?!?

Nice theater. I think Olathe IMAX has real IMAX screen too. Not the fake "smaller" screen.

heh....can u guys do something about 20 minutes of previews before a show?

Went to a 7:25PM show last night, movie didnt start until 7:45 after previews.

That's a good deal, especially since Olathe is supposedly a real IMAX and not a "Liemax" theater.

They're not really supposed to do that any more, due to customer complaints. I know my theater (a Showcase) usually puts around 10 minutes of previews on. But I assume that wasn't an IMAX, 'cause most IMAXes don't run more than 5 minutes of trailers, if at all. (Most IMAXes aren't running trailers on "Avatar" because it's already so long. I have none. A few people crammed in an "Alice" trailer.)

Yeah, I went there for U23D last year and was astounded at the theater.

God, I wish they would listen here in Topeka. We get a couople Bod commercials and then a crapload of fuggin trailers. It's insane.

Probably depends on the chain. This was a Regal theater. Nice theater....but after about the 7th trailer, there were noticable groans from the audience.

dude ... they made us lineup outside and didn't let us in until then.

most of us where 20-30 minutes early

tell your dumbass boss to start seating earlier.

Such as, drinking Dom Perignon ’53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs.
