Electronics Camera Suggestions? - Page 10

Ok;

so the wife and I are in the market for a camera. We previously had a Sony digital camera for about 10 years but the wife dropped it and now it won't hold any settings etc.

So, it's time for another one. I'm by no means a professional photographer; but I also don't want some little $100 POS either. I'd like to have one that I could 'grow' into if I wanted to so to speak.

I think My budget is about $400-$600. I was looking at the Nikon D3200 DSLR....though, admittedly, I'm not 100% what "DSLR" is.
I like the design of it; I've held a few like it and they're much easier to hold IMO.

Suggestions?

I've always felt more comfortable knowing exactly what I'm getting, seeing the total cost up front, and holding the product in my hands. I hate monthly bills as well. It's too easy to overlook them raising fees in small amounts over time and before you know it you're paying out the ass for something.

I actually think it's a yearly bill, that breaks down to $50/month. But I could be wrong.

And yes, I'm assuming we're not talking about a software pirate.

For what most people do, yes, Elements is more than adequate.

For basics, though, you could always go to something like Pixlr.com or download Gimp.

I hear the pros use Photo Mechanic for editing since you can really run through thousands of images pretty easily.

You can get a free trial I see for like 30 days.

i ordered that, only to find out there was an issue with my card; by the time I got in touch with them, the deal was over and they wouldn't grand-father it. bummer.

Now I'm scouting a decent to good zoom lens.
