Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

He's been trying to sell for about 2 months so I'm hoping to gig him for a few bucks below that.
The AR buying craze is over (at least for now). You can get a brand new DPMS Oracle on Buds for $700. And you can also find mags again at regular prices.

That would have been a great deal six months ago. Now, not so much.

Tell this guy to go pound sand.

that's what I was thinking.

he was also trying to sell me a Taurus Slim NIB (forget the actual designator) for $500 when I can get one now for like $375-400.
Not sure if he's asking high realizing he'll come down, or luck out and have someone just buy etc.

So, I've known him in the past to sell stuff/try to sell at above market $

Show him the ads for new Oracles selling for $700, and offer him $600-650.

He probably got bent over in during the scare.

I am going to enjoy the other side of it.

Sounds like a real douche. If he can find some sucker out there foolish enough to pay, good for him. But don't let it be you.

The flipside is eventually there will be another black fla-I mean, mass shooting that fuels a liberal politard/media shitstorm of anti-gun fear, and this crap could start all over again.

A $700 investment now could turn into a $1,500 profit later.

I'm thinking of either picking up an AR, or getting a SW MP.22, HK MP5-22, or Ruger 22.
Maybe two of them. Just for fun cheap shooting.

saw the Ruger SR22 for $310 earlier in the week.

All are good guns.

Ammo, especially .22, is a bitch to find at the moment.

My next gun will be a Ruger 10/22. Although, we did just get a new car for my wife. I could probably parlay that into a new $700 - $1K gun if I play my cards right.

I heard the 10/22 Takedowns were sweet.

I still have my 10/22. I have shot over 10k rounds through it, and it is still accurate.

I decided to clean it for the first time ever about 3 years ago. I ran a clean swab down the barrel and it came out nearly spotless. They are truly amazing rifles.

My Dad had one when I was a kid. My friends and I would take our 22's and a brick of thunderbolt out into the woods all the time. Hours and hours of fun.
