Again - this is the national reputation of your program right now. Dan Patrick doesn't give a wet fart about MU/KU but he specifically noted that many assistants might choose to stay at their current level and wait another year rather than take the KU job. VanPelt said something similar, but he was talking about mid-level head coaches (like Dykes).

Go ahead and say its just sour grapes if you'd like, but I'd suggest you listen to the national outlets a little more before believing it. Kansas has developed a national reputation for coaching suicides.
What you're saying makes sense. However, it should be noted that I really don't think KU will be a coach killer job. It's not like we are a rabid fan base that is national championship or you're fired environment. The reality is that if a coach comes and puts on a good showing he's probably safe.

The Mangino thing perplexes me. I didn't get into it all, but it sounded like Mangino pissed off some booster or got sideways with the administration. he didnt get fired because he was losing. It was an excuse. And those kids that came forward, please. Really it is just inexcusable execution of a football program by KU. Really stupid. They should have just fired him for cause and not brought out the "he's mean" bullshit. But I see a relatively small chance of that type situation happening to another coach. Most guys not named Mike Leach know how to mind their p's and q's enough to go about their business.

Gill got 2 years but if you paid any attention he was horrible. Between the gay ass team rules and the just abysmal execution and 7th grade fundementals displayed by his teams, he was just a god awful staff. I don't know what he did so right at Buffalo but it is obvious to me that this douche can't coach. I can't see him performing like this at any bcs conference school and getting a 3rd year.

We mishandled Mangino. That's on KU. But Gill would have been fired anywhere.

Wow.

Okay chief, whatever you say.

What Knowmo does is ignore all conventional wisdom and any media source that doesn't parrot his ore-conceived notions regarding his pet team. Knowmo's particularly good at disparaging ironclad sources when they don't say what he wants them to say; such as referring to a citation of the most prominent national sports commentator in the country as 'cherry-picking'.

What Knowmo does is ignore the history of his franchise in favor of what he hopes to be true.

But you're right, I'm being the blind homer here...

Honest question, what other BCS coaches have been fired after 2 or fewer years without a scandal being involved?

Look DJ, I understand you hate KU. You hate everything about them. And you want desperately to prove how much of a slug everyone that has anything to do with their program is. KU sucks, blah blah... They are the worst football program in the worst state, with the worst everything.

The reality of it is, KU is not a top of the line football program. They aren't going to get the cream of the crop coach. They aren't gonna waltz in and take whoever they want in the recruiting world. They are going to have to fight hard to get quality leftovers. We realize that, but we're also not Savanah St like you so desperately want them to be.

Don't look now but Twitter is blowing up with rumors of Fedora accepting the job at UNC. Congrats to him. UNC has had some major talent pass through that program recently. I think he'll do good things there.

When you have to create straw-men to deconstruct an argument, you've conceded the point the other side actually made.

Nicely done.

Isn't this the art to your trolling here? I understand it's not nice when it's reciprocated.
