Sorry that you're more willing to believe lone internet hacks over the on air live point blank questioning of the owner. He didn't waver, he wasn't vague. He and he alone will pick the next head coach. Right now there is no GM, Pioli isn't making a single decision regarding the team, and even if he's retained, which, judging by the interview, is not likely, FA, and draft picks are more likely to be who the new coach wants than the GM.

My guess is as Hunt makes the rounds looking at coaches, he'll hear over and over what we already know; No one wants to work with Pioli, and the people that DO want to work for Pioli, aren't on the coaching list. I think one of the best pieces of news yesterday, that proves this, Josh MacDaniels is returning to NE. You know, he was on Pioli's short list, and one of the few candidates that would work with him.

Clark could very easily exercise the buyout and move on with life. This would be the preferable and logical step from my view. However, as the Haley contract dispute has shown us, Clark isn't opposed to lawyering up to try to avoid payment.

Why? No clue. Definitely seems counter-productive, but if this ends up being the worst of his sins as an owner, I can deal.
