Dem Rep Ellison: ‘Very Good Idea’ for Government to Regulate CEO Pay

But they're not commies or even fascists! Riiiiight!
Wednesday on Bloomberg, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) said the government should “start talking about” regulating pay disparities between CEOs and the average worker....

Ellison said, “As you know, under the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act, it became required that the publicly traded companies would have to report the ratio between CEO pay and the median worker. It took about five years or more for the Securities Exchange Commission to create a rule. They finally did so now we have a data set of about 225 public the traded companies. We find that CEOs are paid an exorbitant amount of money’s compared workers. How bad and extreme it was really was shocking to me.”...

When asked if he is advocating government regulation, Ellison said,”I think it is a very good idea. We should start talking about it.”

When you find yourself agreeing with, or arguing for, the views of Keith Ellison it is time to take a personal inventory.

This is ****ing stupid.

Where I work, I am more qualified, have more experience and work harder than all of my superiors. They make probably double what I make and Im a supervisor. The reason? They're buddies with the owner, have been for years and a couple have known him since high school.

Does that piss me off? Not at all, because I'm not a whiny little bitch and I realize its the owner's company and he can pay everyone whatever he wants. If I didn't like it I'd go somewhere else but I dont because he still pays me very well.

Indeed. However, that is the absolute terrifying part of these kids today. They have been taught both by parents AND their "so-called" teachers that everything in this world should be "fair" no matter who it affects.

Hell, look no farther than the participation trophy.

So now, in this day and age, we have an absolute dickhead by the name of Ellison - who is allowed to spout his shit on a national level and these dumbass kids agree with him.

It portends a bad future for this country. I go to bed at night thanking God that I am 71 and won't be around to see the mess that is going to made of this country.

What Federal Laws limit CEO pay?

Only thing I am aware of is that the SEC voted 3-2 f for a rule that requires most public companies to reveal the ratio of the chief executive’s pay to that of employee pay.

A rule is not a law.

Well you can't read. I noticed you used the perennial abuse of the welfare clause in the Constitution by welfarist-progressives aka socialists—which doesn't prove anything calling for regulating a property owner's pay. You're just reading something in between lines to wish upon a star that it exists. And you're ignoring other parts of the Constitution that apply to property rights. Necessary and proper applies to protecting those property rights.
