Trump props up failing industry

LOL forever republicans. Do you have any principles left or are you just servants at the alter of the great leader trump?

Coal is a dying industry. We could bail it out, or we could let the free market do its thing.

Quote:
President Donald Trump on Friday formally threw his weight behind an administration push to compel power companies to keep their coal-fired and nuclear plants operating in the name of national security — an effort that has stirred criticism from environmentalists, the oil and gas industry and some free-market Republicans.

I saw the title, so I figured the thread would be about the media. Instead, it seems to be about coal, which is doing very well in many parts of the world.

Oh, well, enjoy the thread.

Well, I thought it was interesting. The lefties here need a guiding hand, with a few blurbs. Kinda' like a children's book with a couple of sentences under a picture. Clicking on a link is too much hard work for them. Or you could paraphrase a summary for them, perhaps. But they'd have to be at 6th grade level if you're going to do that.

Try posting a brief summary of it in your own words if you want anybody to give a shit.

There's no energy source even CLOSE to the efficiency of nuclear power.

Not even CLOSE.

Nuclear power is perfectly fine energy source.

Coal is not. It's dirty, it has a terrible human cost, and it has a terrible environmental cost.

Solar has a long way to go in terms of efficiency, but since the sun is a giant free source of energy, so researching how to convert and use it seems very valuable. Solar has also come a long way so that's good! Solar feels like one of those things trumpkins just object to out of habit because **** the environment or something.

How would you feel if 20 acres of solar panels could replace the power output of your nuclear plant (with, obviously, none of the human or environmental risks)? What about 40 acres? What about 100?

How would you feel if everyone had a million dollars and it rained unicorn farts everyday? You talk out of your ass and know nothing about what you say. You have no clue about power generation. You are a fool.

How nice would it be if everything was perfect!

We also shouldn't subsidize their production.

I would agree with you if Obama hadn't turned a functioning industry on its head. I think you guys are pretty heartless to rip paying jobs away from people through the force of government and then not want to use that same government to correct the grievance caused against them.
