It might impact soft-minded people that don't really like the sport to begin with, I'll be watching regardless.

I think the most idiotic thing about the kneeling general is exactly the #2 poll option is, kneeling for the anthem does nothing constructive in regards to what these players are supposedly kneeling for. You want to protest social equality and racial injustice? Go do something productive then- kneeling for the anthem isn't going to change a god damn thing.

Thing is, players do.

Chris Long. Malcolm Jenkins.

But then Chris Long gets ripped for donating an entire season's salary to charity as "a publicity stunt".

What more do you want from someone?

He also has charitable efforts with his Water Boy Charities.

What have you done for charitable efforts?

I can tell you what I've done with my time. I've volunteered once a week tutoring elementary students in an at-risk area.

Are you going to rip LeBron because he didn't donate his entire salary to help establish his elementary school?

The fact is anyone who takes action in their community through donating their time and money instead of just talking deserves to be commended.

The whole anthem thing kinda brought awareness to the entire country on the police brutality issue.... so it did work to help change in a way.

That said, the awareness is there... and now the players should go back to just playing ball.
If someone decides to kneel, I hope the media can just ignore it and stop making every detail some type of news story.

Agree with this, much like "thoughts and prayers", it's a way to make it look like you care without actually doing anything.

I wouldn't say that's all they are doing. There's been articles about them in talks with the teams and NFL about how to make a difference. Some have donated money to certain causes, helped charities etc.

To say they're doing nothing other than kneeling is just wrong.

Edit: I agree about 'Thoughts and prayers' is not doing a damn thing

That's true, but the NFL can only do so much. If they truly want to make a difference, maybe some direction as far as what the average fan that has to put up with this can do. I'd love to see racial inequalities eliminated as well but I don't have the slightest idea what to do end it other than doing my best to treat people equally on a personal level.

Do what the NBA does. And what Jerry Jones (I'm guessing) is doing. Tell them to stand for the anthem no matter what. Then help the players build their platform, including PSAs before & during the game. As with all things, Goodell kept punting on this issue until it was too late. If owners want to win and keep fans happy at the same time, then they should sincerely help players advocate for their causes on their own time. NBA players have specifically said they don't kneel because they feel the league and owners are very supportive of them off the field.
