Border Wall Funded by Omnibus?

It appears so...

"We're going to have to pass it to find out what's in it..."

It appears that Trump managed to pull a maneuver to get the wall fully funded via the defense budget. It's a long and complicated trick the Republicans pulled off, but it appears to be reality that the Wall is funded and Trump pulled one over on the Democrats.

Per US News & World Report:

Of course, the media is too interested in who Trump has slept with right now to focus on policy, but when the smoke clears, the wall will be well under construction by the US ACoE.

More difficult to scale? A ladder or a rope is difficult to get now?

Funny, I had to (unfortunately) live in San Diego from 2010 - 2012. I have been down there numerous times. Never saw a wall - saw a lot of "fencing" if you want to call it that - but never a wall. Matter of fact, the Wife and I went to that outlet mall in San Yisidro on the day that they had uncovered (yet another) tunnel that led to one of the stores.

The Border Patrol had shut the dress shop down and was working to cover the tunnel in.

But a Wall? Nowhere I ever saw....

Just sit back and watch them waste money.

It is amazing to me that they still can't comprehend that fighting a drug war is like fighting millions of years of evolution.

I really liken it the dumbasses who put plastic coyotes in their yards to scare away Canadian geese. Only to see the geese hanging out with their new plastic buddy the next day and wonder why it doesn't work.

South Korea developed some slick ground-penetrating radar. Put that on a drone and fly it near the border and you will catch them pretty quickly.

You want to have our southern border to be like the DMZ in Korea?

No. A wall and drones would do quite nicely with modern technology (thermal imaging, ground penetrating radar, motion sensors, etc.).

As I stated above - I have SEEN that "fence" down in San Diego - I used to catch a meal down at the Chick-fil-A on the southern side of Eastlake. there was a fence (aprox) 1 mile from there that had holes that you could drive a tank through.

So, bottom line - if a country wants to defend it's border from illegals crossing into the country - DEFEND the damned thing. Used to watch the Border Patrol in their little trucks going down the road (on our side) about once every 6 hours.

Now THAT is what I call "protection".
