I don't think anyone's going to not hire a guy because he got the flu.

Maybe there's more to it. Or maybe there's a reason why he hasn't gotten a single head coaching interview until his 30th year in coaching.

I don't think Marc Tresman is a bad hire for Chicago, but I wouldn't want to be the guy to go to Chicago just to "fix" Jay Cutler. Chicago defense is getting old and they are going have to start addressing future needs let alone their offensive line.

I'm very pleased with the way things have turned out, and yes, I know Reid's limitations. Gus Bradley would have also made me happy, but I agree, who knows what GM we would ahve gotten with that hire.

If you had asked me this question a month ago, I would have definitively said that I preferred Chip Kelly over Reid, but given that Reid's hire brought about the hiring of Dorsey (as well as some other reasonably solid coaching hires), I'd say that I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out.
