Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I have come this close to buying one 2 or 3 times but the damn gun is butt ugly to me....

I bought my first AR today. Installed my rail system and fore grip, waiting on my holographic site to be shipped. It's a lowly DPMS but I picked all that up for 600 bucks.

Mine started out as a lowly DPMS - about two grand ago.

We need dirty details. 16" or 20" barrel? Are you going to have flip-up iron sights along with your holo? What kind of holgraphic sight did you go with?

DPMS makes a good rifle, you will enjoy the hell out of it.

I built a M&A Parts 24" Bull Barrel with a Rock River 2 Stage Match Trigger. Nice rifle, especially for the money.

The build took a whole 50 minutes, even though it was my first one. I have only ran about 150 rounds of 77 grain Nosler boatails through it, so I can't give an accurate realibilty review, yet.

It is cool, but if you work with your hands a lot it is almost elementary.

My dad and I are going start our next builds with 80% forgings pretty soon. That should be a lot of fun.

Besides, it would be nice to have another paperless AR.

Got a friend looking at a used Glock either Model 21 or 30 in a .45 ACP caliber for $500. Doesn’t seem like that good of a price, new they’re going for $550 – 700 online.
Thoughts?

My rule of thumb is 25%/ good condition.

It needs to be at least 25% cheaper than a new one and be in good condition or it isn't worth it. You have no idea how the gun has been treated, how many rounds have been ran through it, etc.

Guns are like car audio and airplanes: people usually embelish or bend the truth.

Besides, an extra $100 for full warranty and peace of mind is worth every penny.
