I only wanted Marty to win when he was here.
Now, I hate every team, coach and cheerleader who isn't a Chief. Ok, some of the cheerleaders are alright I guess. They can remain alive....for now. |

I still like Marty, since the Chiefs are eliminated I'm rooting for him.
Besides, the better the Chargers do the less they will be able to retain all of those players. |

That may be the worst argument in the history of this board. It needs no rebuttal. Also considered for argument; "Marty is a crap coach. He did the same thing Lance Armstrong does in cycling wait for shimano to build him a better bike."

As for the "talent" argument, name me ONE Super Bowl-winning coach that won it all WITHOUT talent. That whole argument is BS. Coaches don't win Super Bowls without talented players. However, talented players can often be coached into LOSING. And that's why I won't defend Marty or root for him now. He's NOT A VICTIM. He brought all of this criticism on himself. Everybody likes to compare him to Vermeil. Well, how many times has Vermeil has the most talented team in his conference? ONCE. And that year, he won it all. Marty has had the best team in his conference AT LEAST TWICE (1997 Chiefs, Cleveland was it 86?) and it could be argued that he's had it twice more, 1 each with Cleveland and the 1995 Chiefs. And how many conference championships has he won? |
