Chiefs 2013 NFL Sunday Ticket + Alternatives - Page 10

I know we had this thread last year, but things change every year so I thought I'd post this.

I've been with DirecTV for about 6 years now for the Ticket, but I can't afford it anymore. So I thought I'd see what things we learn as we negotiate, work around the Ticket, and find ways to watch our Chiefs games out of market as affordable as possible.

I know there's a promotion with Madden 25. What else is there this year?

I was able to get $50 off this year but, that is nothing compared to the past. This is the last year they have exclusive rights and I think they are milking it for every penny. Hopefully next year there will be some competition.

Just opened mine. There's a slip of paper with a username and password to login. Basically just a brief promo vid and then a message saying come back on September 8. Login worked on my PC, phone, and tablet. We'll see what the quality is like in a few weeks!

Just finished a 10 minute phone call with Directv. Walked away with no contract extension, a new genie/wholehome system and install, free movie channels for 4 months, a 35 dollar reduction in my normal package, and Sunday ticket. All for free. No stress, all I asked was 'how long is left on my contract?' this prompted them to send me up a level, where all I asked was that if I renew (my contract has 20 days left) can i get the same deal that the 'new customers' are getting. (which includes basically all of the aforementioned stuff)

She politely and quickly explained that she could not give me the exact package, but gave me all of the above, the only thing that a new customer would get is a further 30 dollar bill reduction for a year . And, she did so WITHOUT making me sign a contract.

DirecTV CFO Pat Doyle said at a Wednesday investors conference that, if the price goes up too high when the current NFL Sunday Ticket deal expires after the 2014 season, DirecTV would consider “striking a non-exclusive deal with the NFL or possibly even dropping the popular package,” writes the Hollywood Reporter, via SportsBusiness Daily.

Use google chrome and get Adblock. Worked great for me last year. If you use a euro IP the vids come in a lot clearer too.

If directv dropped it that would suck but I can't see it happening. DTV has it great now with ST as exclusive

Been on the phone three times, this last time for 53 minutes. Best I can get, even after getting to retention was the full Sunday Ticket with online package for $36 for four months. I've been with them for 3 years, had a $100+ bill every month and never been late.

Will have to really decide in the next month or so if I want to stick with them. I can get full digital cable along with my broadband and save $100 a month.

Spent 10 minutes on the phone...got Ticket Max for free plus $15 off my monthly bill each month for a one year commitment. Will do the same routine next year. DTV since '98 and Ticket subscriber since its inaugural season.

I'm a Dish network subscriber. Used to do DTV, but got tired of them raising my bill what seemed like every 3 months.
