Can we get rid of the filter evasion ban?

A quick history of this ban:

It was put in place after GoChiefs (Wonton Prejiduce) was banned for no reason by Phobia and back then they needed a reason to justify a ban to the unruly masses of ChiefsPlanet so they came up with this idea that Kyle (AustinChief) spent way too much time putting these filters in place and it offended him when people circumvented them so they were always supposed to be automatic bans they were just never inforced.

Instead of making up fake reasons to ban people, can we just call it like it is and say:

"Claythan was banned because Phil doesn't like him. Pretty simple. He's a mod, and Clay isn't. Burn in an AIDS coma bundle of sticks!"

because Duncan_idaho, a harmless productive board member who has never said anything negative in his life and has never broken a single rule until just now circumvented a filter in the Royals game thread and I'd hate to see him banned for 3 days for breaking such a sacred rule.

So lets just do away with this fake rule that makes no sense for this AIDS TREE ANTI-FREEZE RAPING reerun BREEDER of a board and just ban people for no reason like I'm about to be banned for this thread.

Certain people don't want to see certain words... that is why we have custom filtering. If we allow someone to type dvck instead of duck... it defeats the entire purpose. AND most importantly, it's an asshole thing to do.

TO ME, circumventing the filter is far worse than ANY petty personal attacks. If you are being attacked personally you have the option to ignore a user or man up and attack back.

Fatchatter worked fine. It lasted like 4-5 years. It had moderate traffic. There were still people posting on it when I shut it down last year and hadn't personally used it in 2 years.

I hated the name from day one. I wanted it to be named StupidFatheads but I got overruled by the technical people who were doing all the backend work. I think StupidFatheads would still be interesting today. In fact, I'd probably be Mark Cuban Jr by now if we had rolled with my name.

OH! and one more reason for the filter I almost forgot... it is on by DEFAULT for people not logged in. So the PUBLIC face of the board is slightly cleaner with **** instead of dvck. Not a huge deal but it's nice to have a classy exterior greet you before you walk into the seedy strip club full of naked coke whores which is the true face of this place.
