If Bowe goes down . . .

What the hell are they going to do with the WR position?

I don't care how good of a play designer or play caller Reid can be, or if Alex Smith plays like he did in the playoff game for the entire season, we'd be lucky to average 20 points a game if our WR core becomes:

Avery, Jenkins, Hemmingway, Wilson/Williams/Dressler

Is Dorsey expecting our defense to hold opposing offenses to less than 10 points a game or something?

The only WR's out there right now who are worth even a tiny glance are:

Miles Austin
Santonio Holmes

That's literally it on the FA market.

Do we trade Flowers for someone? Who would make that trade? Hali?

It seems like the FO is betting on Jenkins, Avery, and Hemmingway to step up their games in year 2, but I won't be holding my breath on it.

Another possibility is that they expect Kelce back at full strength and expect him to be a 40-60 catch guy for us as an inline TE and occasional slot guy.

All I know is that Reid really has his work cut out for him. This offensive roster, in terms of receiving weapons, is nearly as bad as his early 2000 Eagles days when he had Todd Pinkston, Freddy Mitchell, and James Thrash as his top receivers. I just pray that Bowe can stay healthy and put up at least 80% of the production that Owens had for the Eagles in 2004.

Bowe was double teamed a lot. If he is out we are screwed. Nobody else on this team will come close to half of Bowes numbers while constantly being double teamed.

Because a rookie with limited mobility, who chokes in big moments, and doesn't have a strong arm is going to make our limited receivers better.

Green Bay WAS screwed when Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb went down last year. Now they're not (Davante Adams, Jared Abbrederis, and Jeff Janis all in the same draft... jesus mother****ing christ)

It's all about where and how you choose to be screwed in case of injuries.

In Kansas City's case, we were 5-deep at CB going into the draft. Adding Gaines made us 6-deep, and we didn't bother to remedy that unbalanced depth by shipping out Flowers. We chose to do that instead of taking Moncrief, Abbrederis, Ellington, or Martavis Bryant.

Now if we have an injury at WR, we're ****ed. For ****'s sake... we're ****ed even if we stay healthy the entire season at WR. We're just plain ****ed at that position period.

And since we didn't stock up NOW when all the good WRs are available in the draft, we're not going to have ANY options next year other than reaching on a WR because we desperately need one. Or overpaying for one in free agency. That's our other option.

There could be someone available next year at our 1st or 2nd pick who will be just as good as anyone that we could have gotten in the 3rd this year.

First of all, Hemingway is an exact size/type replacement for Bowe, so our offense isn't going to suffer a whole bunch if we lost Bowe.

Second of all, this is a west coast offense, we can literally plug and play anybody in some of these roles to get things going. I'd be more concerned about losing the backs and tight ends more than receivers in this offensive scheme.

Absolutely not, Hemingway is basically Bowe's understudy. Red zone threat, possession type receiver with a big body.

No, Hemingway is not. Did you see him play last year at all?

If (Insert name here) goes down to injury, what do the Chiefs do?

This is why I like the Chiefs taking a step back this offseason. We are a longshot to win with a full crew let alone if we're missing any parts. If we're successful in the bargain bin and the draft at building depth, we won't have to ask this question. But we're not even close to there yet. We are still too dependent on a small group of players to pull a lot of weight.

In a normal draft class, that would be the case.

The WR talent is all ****ing gone, dude. So many underclassmen came out this year. The well is officially bone ****ing dry in 2015 if you want a WR.

You can either reach on a prospect in the 1st round or wait until 2016, basically.

Dorsey should have seen that shit coming, and he didn't. Now he'll pay for his lack of vision.

Bowe is one.

Jenkins? Are you talking about Jenkins as the second?

Look, I can disagree with you about De'Anthony Thomas, but I can at least see the hopeful outlook you're taking with him.

I don't even see that when you bring up Jenkins as a legit asset to help this team in 2014.

There are still some WRs that I like for next year. It's not as deep as this year but not completely devoid of talent either.

Jenkins is the 2nd, and this team wouldn't have passed up drafting a solid WR if we didn't have some faith in Bowe, Jenkins, and Hemingway. DAT was a solid pick and we're going to utilize him well, but you've got to believe that AJ is going to step into his own in this offense when he gets completely acclimated to it. Now that the pressure from SanFran is off of him, and he's in an environment suited for his play, there's really no place for him to go but up. And with Hemingway in the mix as the #3 guy and more of an understudy to Bowe, we're pretty flexible on where we can put AJ, should he be capable of transitioning to the slot.

I will say this. Next year we'll have money and next year the 2015 free agency class will be solid.

Packers loaded up on WR's because they know Jordy Nelson is gone after this season. They also know that Cobb has battled injuries.

I hope we don't lose Bowe honestly. If we don't we should be good.

Next offseason will be ****ing awesome. We'll have money for free agency, we'll have have all of our draft picks and we'll have a comp pick or two.
