Need Your Vote to save a Drive-In

As many of you know, film studios are going to stop making 35mm prints at the end of this year. The Drive-In I work for here in KC, the I-70, is going to need four digital projectors. Given the size of our screens and the throw distance from the booth to the field, the upgrade is going to be particularly expensive for us .

Honda is currently sponsoring an online contest called Project Drive-In. The top five vote getters will have a digital projector install free of charge by Honda.

Needless to say, winning this contest would be a huge help to us at the I-70, as it will cover 25% of the expense needed to keep running.

So my fellow Planteers, I ask for your vote for the I-70...not only to keep it open, but to help save the jobs of those that work there. It is a small business, and we are like family.

You can vote once per day. If you run multiple browsers, you can vote once from each browser per day. Here is the link to vote for us:

http://projectdrivein.com/vote_26

Also you can vote via text message. Text messages count as two votes when submitted. Simply text Vote26 to 444999.

Thank You all very much in advance for you vote and support!

Voting ends on Sept 9th.

I went to a drive-in theater once. I saw an opossum.

I voted in the hopes that if you do have opossums, you'll do the right thing and gas them all.

Not at the moment, unfortunately. They are not even letting the Drive-Ins that are participating know. I wish we knew where we stood too, but all we can do is drum up the most votes we can and hope for the best.

Big thanks to everyone who has voted so far!

I was wondering that too. On the map it says how many votes have been cast, but it doesn't say which one is leading. Right now there have been 1,180,467 votes.
