It wasn't cheap, but I sat down and did the math on how much restaurant food I was actually buying, and I think I ended up making all of it back in about 6 months by cooking at home for myself. I talked with several chefs before making a deal with one for 75$ an hour, but it ranged from as low as 40 an hour to one who wanted 110. Then the food cost as well. Each of the four lessons ended up around 400 dollars, which I balked at for months before actually doing it, and then I did the math on my spending and it was an easy choice.

that gnocci looks delicious. I've never made my own gnocci, but I buy a whole wheat gnocci (I know, I know) that I use a amogio sauce I make on it. The thought of the bacon on it is fantastic. Keep it up FMB.

Wife and I just home from Italy. 12 awesome days and an uncountable number of calories later. We did a cooking school lesson in Florence that was simply amazing. After I recover from yesterdays flights and 25 hours from wake up call to opening our front door Ill try to give you a couple amazing recipes

One blow us away dish was in Venice...a lemon risotto. so simple...basic risotto made with chicken stock/water, parmesan, and lemon zest. Amazing stuff
