Welp. Not as bad as I was expecting but still doesn't look all that great.

Started last night. Don't watch anime, but I was intrigued enough to give this a shot.

Enjoying it so far 2 epsidoes in.

Won't spoil which of them it is, but three of the characters introduced outside of the main cast this season have bigger roles in the story now than they ever have, and they were introduced literally a quarter of a century ago. Testament to the insane world building Oda does.

Holy shit, finished this show the first weekend it was out. Watched the anime a bit when I was younger, but don't remember anything from it. I actually really enjoyed it.

It's a shame that the performances of the actors in this show, and shows like it, will never get the credit and praise they deserve.

The acting, by literally every single actor in this show, was pitch perfect. But the acting by Inaki Godoy who played Luffy, Emily Rudd who played Nami, and by Mackenyu Maeda who played Zoro, was just incredible.

The emotional beats of this show (the anime is outstanding, and if you have never watched it, hit Netflix now before it's gone) all ring so true, and nothing is camp, even when it seems campy it's all in earnest.

I felt the same way with the performances of Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin, and Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma aka The Riddler, on the show Gotham. Yeah, it was technically a comic book show, but their two individual performances were ****ing incredible, and they deserved recognition.

So, yeah, One Piece is my favorite anime of all time, and just one of the best stories ever, so maybe I am biased, but this show was amazing.
