Ben Roethlisberger has been wildly inconsistent this year

http://deadspin.com/which-ben-roethl...wee-1791086732

It's a long article with lots of media embedded so I'm not gonna paste it all here. Just click the link, bitch.

This bit was interesting, though:

Quote:
Per Pro Football Reference, Roethlisberger had four games this season in which his adjusted yards per attempt was below 5.0. Among quarterbacks who qualified for the postseason, only Eli Manning (four) and Brock Osweiler (six) had that many. (Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson each had two; Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr had one; Matt Ryan and Tom Brady had none.) And while Football Outsiders had the Steelers’ offense ranked eighth in DVOA, it was 31st in variance—ahead of only the sad-sack Rams, who ranked last in offensive DVOA.
Though the article is heavily stats-based and therefore fairly objective, I find it interesting that the writer is a Steelers fan. Feels like this article might have been inspired by anxiety as much as observation.

Steelers aren't a push-over. But this isn't week 4. A rookie won't be covering Antonio Brown. It will be in Arrowhead where Ben has never played that well. We'll have Houston and Ford and Hali as good as they've all been all season. In week 4 Ben had 4 passes of 30+ yards -- the Chiefs gave up 6 such plays the rest of the season. We ran into a buzzsaw that week, a week after Pittsburgh got blown out, the week that Bell returned from suspension. We are not the Dolphins who beat no one of consequence all season. Alex Smith plays lights out (compared to the regular season) in the playoffs more often than not.

It will be a battle. The Steelers will try to exploit our ILBs. I'm sure we'll be playing Eric Berry close to the line on running plays.

Chiefs are going to win...and it may not even be that close.

I've seen Ben play pretty damn shitty with injuries that weren't as hyped as this injury for him...and this injury isn't receiving huge hype as being something serious, or anything...

Just saying, it could be more serious of an issue, then they are letting on.

I watch about every Steeler game with my wife being a die-hard. They are probably my 2nd favorite AFC team, along with the Jaguars... Huge difference between good Ben and bad Ben...usually it's good Ben, but those bad Ben games are really bad... I wonder if this foot injury may result in bad Ben. Funny thing is, even bad Ben is better than Landry Jones...Jones is the QB who reminds me so much of Cassel, more than any QB I've ever seen.

None of this matters, our guys are surely preparing for the Rapist to be on point... great QBs are always able to turn it up a notch in the postseason

Ben's one of those QBs who plays much better at home. He also plays through injuries. It's not surprising he's inconsistent
