Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

I think you're underestimating just how much they have left to cover. Next year will be season 5, but they'll only be at book 4. Even if they only do a season each for books 4, 5, and 6 (as unlikely/impossible as that is) that means they still won't run into any unpublished material until season 8, which would air in 2018, assuming that Winds of Winter has been published before 2017 (it'll be out next year).

I think we'll see the end for both the tv series and the novels by 2020, with A Dream of Spring coming out in 2019, then split into the 9th and 10th seasons (2019/2020). That gives him 4 years after TWoW to finish the 7th book. Assuming it's the last.
