Rufus "Freight Train" Jones and Bulldog Bob Brown FTW!!!!!!!

Wrestling almost died for me when the local shows stopped. Then Abdullah the Butcher stopped wrestling and that was the final death knell.

I didn't even realize it was Monday. I wonder how awful TNA's PPV was last night.

It appears Victoria is gonna go work for TNA...

You know what amuses me, the reerunation of these wrestlers. So lets see Victoria, who had just recently signed a 3 year extension decides that she's "retiring" then after her no compete expires she goes to work for TNA for likely 1/4 of the money..

Did someone not inform her that wrestling is a work intended to make money? If you honestly would rather work for a company for a fraction of the money because you like the way you'll be booked better that makes you a mark for yourself.

Not to that level, when you will actually sacrifice more money in favor of how you're booked that is reeruned.

Shows like this are the ones that make you hide that fact you watch wrestling.

I'm usually at work during these hours, so I thought I'd check it out. And thank God I got to see Jerry Lawler in the ring, again.

Ha I said that on a wrestling forum, that shit like this is why I don't readily admit I'm a wrestling fan, and I got bitched out.

I didn't watch one minute of that shit. Instead, I watched Milk again and afterward was hunting the webs for a couple of colorways of New Balance 1500's, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice.

The Central States Heavyweight Championship!!!!

I started watching in the mid 70s or so. Watch the shows out of KC about a week or so after they happened. About once a month or so they would come to where I lived at the time and do a show in crackerbox gym that might seat 200. Dudes like Rufus, Bulldog, Brusier Bob Sweetan, Mike George, The Interns, Super Interns, Oates Brothers would all make appearances. NWA guys would come thru every so often and the cenral states champ would get a shot and heavy weight champ. Usually it was Flair or Rhodes. I remember Rufus showing up in a caddy with a pint of gin in his front pocket and a cig hanging out of his mouth. Their was no separation from the fans, sat on a aisle when I seen Flair, close enough that when he came out I could have stepped on his robe. Should have done it. Close enough to Dusty that I could see the scars on his forehead. Never forget Flair though, their was about 100 people in the place, he was wrestling Bulldog Bob Brown whom at the time was a face, Flair put a show that night like he was at wrestlemania.

Some good shit back then, also the tag division seemed to matter and they billed it like it mattered.
