Both of the twins talk about using the potty. Getting them to sit down or tell us when they have to go needs some work.
Your kids will think you are intentionally being assholes for a long time, if you're doing it right.

The heart rate monitor, again, puts you at ease. My wife has always had trouble sleeping, even before babies, anything so having alarm makes a huge difference.

It went off one night and scared the living shit out of me. Fortunately, she just positioned herself too far from the center of the crib and it couldn't detect a heartbeat. It only happened once in three years but I'm glad we have it.
I was so ****ing scared of SIDS....

We've been told that potty training boys is more difficult than girls, for whatever reason.

I just take it all in stride. As I mentioned earlier, I've got a mesh retractable gate for our playroom, the entrance of which is about 15 foot from the kitchen. I'll leave the playroom and my 1 year old will sit at the gate and cry and cry and cry until I return. I'm usually just getting her bottle or juice or refilling iced tea or something and I'm only gone for less than a minute, but she's a blubbering mess.

Me? I can't stop laughing. Seriously. I told my Mom this just last week and she said "Oh, I don't think I could laugh! I'd feel so sad for the baby and it always stresses me out when babies cry.". My reply was "She's in a safe zone with a 47" LCD TV showing Mickey Mouse. I'm 15 feet away, get her bottle. She's not in the wilderness, not being attacked by animals and isn't starving. It's irony at its finest".

My Mom said "Wow, that's a great attitude! It's nice that it doesn't stress you out. That's great!".

I know.

SIDS is scary stuff. I remember waking up frequently to go in and check on them. One time, my oldest was sleeping really soundly and I couldn't tell that he was breathing. He also didn't respond when I nudged him a few times. I sorta panicked and picked him up, which finally woke him up (crying, of course). My wife was not happy with me but it scared the shit out of me.

I never saw the need for a baby monitor but the heart rate monitor would of been nice (I don't remember them being available then).

I hope so!

First time parents need to be scared, IMO. That means they'll care and not blow it off.

Being a parent is THE most important thing you'll ever do with your life. You can be famous and wealthy beyond your wildest imagination but if you suck as a parent, you suck at life.

I can vividly remember one day my wife and older son were upstairs. I was watching college football in the living room. My 9month old was scooting around the hardwoods like crazy in his walker. Suddenly I heard him stop. I had an eerie feeling for some odd reason and looked back and he was right behind me. A foot away from our downstairs staircase. (20 steps deep with tile basement at the bottom). Our oldest had left the baby gate open and the toddler was just sitting there innocently, staring up at me. He was inches from going for a massive tumble.

I almost passed out. About two days later, it hit me hard. I went to bed and had such bad anxiety I couldn't sleep. Weeks of wondering "what if?" consumed me. Oh, enjoy being a dad Buehler!

So I have a question about Amazon Prime vs. Diapers.com. Do you have to go to diapers.com to buy the product or can you get the same product through amazon? If you have to go through diapers.com any way you can get logged onto Prime?

Ugh. I hate going to that place. I was hoping I could get them delivered to the casa.
