Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

Finally wrapped up a bunch of small projects, and I'm eager to get back on some BF3. Managed to get in a few games Friday night and did okay considering the time off.

I seriously think this might be my favorite game I've played on PS3. Only thing that is close/equal to it is RDR (which I'm getting back into one of these days).

The feeling one gets as a gamer when you play with a good squad/people who know what their doing, is hard to duplicate with other games. Even the games where it's not a slaughter, is still super fun. I had 1 match a few games back where each team had like 1 ticket left for a good 5 minutes. everyone was sneaking around, trying not to be the last one killed. Our team lost, but it was still a blast.

The only thing I noticed is alot of times there aren't a lot of people playing the support class, which I think is odd. Oh well. More points for me. I try to find a good squadmate, and respawn with him /the squad every time.

I just got a new 46" LED Samsung and plugged in BF3 last night.

I had about a two week or so break due to some projects etc, and I've hopped on a handful of times in the last week...man, I've really lost whatever small amount of skill I had. lol

I messed up and played around with the controller sensitivity, and now my guy looks around way too fast like a paranoid coke-head.

Patches are coming.....some really good ones, some not so good:

A couple good ones IMO:
-Mines, Claymores, C4 and other deployable items will now only appear on the minimap when spotted by a teammate.
-The MAV will now be destroyed when running into a soldier or vehicle at high speed. It is still possible to strategically sacrifice your MAV on a soldier; it will be destroyed in the process.
-The MAV can no longer be used as an elevator.

And just for Kraus:
-C4 will no longer be detonable after a player respawns, if the player is revived within 5 seconds he can still detonate his C4.

Sounds good . I mentioned a couple of the same things on my survey. So sounds like I wasn't the on,y one. Wish they could do something about an entire team not doing chit because they're waiting for an aircraft to respawn. Meanwhile you and two other teammates are trying to win the game

I just get to play it on a crappy 360, I'm jealous. 64 player matches on Karkand would be insane.

I've maxed out all my unlocks for support class (sans the final LMG, which I don't care for LMGs anymore) and have 3 service stars for Support class.

Which class should I move onto next? I was considering Recon, but didn't fare too well on the few occasions when I ran that class. So I'm a little leary.

I don't like Recon either, so if I want to level it up I run around with a shotty or another all kit weapon. Last resort is the SKS without a scope.
