I saw it in 2D. I'm glad I did, I didn't even know it was out in 3D.

we have discussed this ad nausem around here, but heres my take again.

3D is a huge gimmick to me. I refuse to pay for it anymore no matter what the movie is.

It doesnt make a great movie like Avengers any better or the experience. It might make a bad movie a little more tolerable, but then you might question why you just spend $15 on a bad movie?

I feel straight IMAX does enhance a viewing expereince though. The problem is, alot of screeings are going to IMAX 3D only or sometimes they limit the number of 2D showings which i feel is wrong.

Just my 2 cents.

3D was pointless. I had to end up seeing the 3D version because I missed the 2D showing time. Barely made the 3D showing, but the beers at 23rd Street Brewery were tasting too damn good last Sunday.

Also at one point the phrase "mewling quim" is used, which is basically the British equivalent of "whiny ****".

Common Sense Media is a really good site i like to use to help me select if its ok for my kids.

Heres their Avengers review. It does contain a few obscenities.

Yeah, I'm definitely talking about the New Avengers Luke Cage. 70's "Sweet Christmas" Luke Cage just looked like a dumbass. This newer incarnation is much more badass:

Like I said though, I bet they'll bring in Black Panther for Wakanda's technology if they go the Thanos route; but I'm not sure they'd bother to bring in Luke Cage at all. He's really just a cool looking black dude with unbreakable skin and some strength. We've already seen that in the Thing and Colossus. Not sure how they'd spin him to make him more interesting. It's not like they need to throw in a black superhero anyway, the franchise is already as marketable as could be.

saw it in 2D, thankfully...no reason for this move to be 3D..none

anyways, have to admit it was pretty much awesome, and I'm not a comics fan or fan of 'blockbusters'...totally won me over, not even sure how you could do it better...

ruffalo is great, the Hulk destroying was great...pretty much the standard for event movies, with the exception of 'dark' takes like Dark Knight

Yep. The part where he talks about trying to blow his own head off and having The Hulk just spit the bullet back out was great.

I agree that 3D does nothing for the film, but that's only if you see it in a regular-sized theater. In my full-size IMAX, the 3D absolutely kicked ass. The whole ending battle scene was epic in giant-screen 3D. (Problem is, I'm only one of a handful of theaters worldwide with a screen this big showing "Avengers" in Digital 3D.)
