**2012 Sporting Kansas City\Soccer Thread**
Sporting Kansas City was eliminated from MLS Cup contention after losing to Houston 2-1 aggreagate over the span of two games. They finished the year as US Open Cup Champions and a Kansas City team record of 63 points.

I've been fighting the flu, and actually had to give away my playoff ticket. I'm not one to miss a game unless I really have to, but I've been sick as a dog.

Watched it on TV though, and the crowd was amazing. I screamed so loud when I thought that the referee called for a PK at the end, that my new neighbors must think I'm nuts. Then I saw him give a goal kick and I was devastated. I haven't re-watched it, but didn't he blow the whistle as soon as the "foul" was committed? I was just sure that's what the call was.

Either way, I was really proud of the way the team fought. Was cool to see Seth finally get a goal. He was so pumped. Loved when he grabbed the ball out of the back of the net, ran it back to midfield, and slammed it down.

A few news items...

Robb is working on an extension for Peter Vermes.

Also Tod Palmer talked to Vermes today who said some things about the Espinoza situation. PV said chance wise it is 60/40 that he leaves...which is pretty good odds for SKC for anyone who has been following that situation. He is drawing interest from Wigan and another unknown European club.

Robb apparently is also working hard on getting a striker in.

It was. Most of the crowd stood the entire game. The West side the notable exception as always. They stood for parts of it which was more than they usually do.

That crowd truly believed SKC would do it. Like the odds were in our favor or something. It was remarkable.

Thanks for the video, Zach. I'll watch that during the off season lull when I need a bit of Cauldron pick me up. I hope to move further to the middle section next year. Got my husband used to the Cauldron and he likes it. But we sit on the East end closer to the club. I love that view and proximity to the bathroom but I want to be more in the thick of things next year.

I wish we could purchase season tickets there but they are sold out and on a waiting list. Incredible and frustrating at the same time. Who would have thought that a possibility four years ago?

Well that is definitely a mixed bag of news. Not liking the Vermes or Espinoza situation. Hopefully, Robb will have some success getting a really good player with our awesome press due to our sell outs and USOC victory.
