There are lots of reasons but mainly car dealers send cars to auctions for cash flow. When it comes time to pay bills used car trade in's go away. Oh and that's a given. Boned

I dunno where you made up your percentages from, but if a car is worth keeping, we will keep it. Those percentages are so laughably off I don't know how else to put it but that they are dead ass wrong. There is always more money in retail than auction. Looking at your whole statement, everything you said is wrong. Not enough manpower to push it? I'm not sure what that even means, do you think dealer send cars to auction because they are selling so many cars that they don't have enough sales guys? Cause that's.. also just so wrong. That being said, there are also reasons why a car goes to auction. Maybe it needed tires, and they paid too much for it and didn't want to put a grand worth of tires on it to retail it, but thought they could break out of it at auction etc. Maybe it IS a piece of shit that's not worth reconditioning, and it gets sent in that case too. Maybe it sat on the lot for more than X amount of time that the dealer has set aside for age buckets, and it went just from pure inventory age. But clean older cars don't get sent to auction because they are old, or because they dont have enough manpower to sell them lol. As a day one car guy learns.. THERE IS AN ASS FOR EVERY SEAT. |

It's ****ing simple, Dealers work off of cash flow, When a nice car comes along a decision is made to either recondition it and retail it, clean it up and give it a puff for a few days and then auction it or wholesale it. I say they put it up for sale, listed it on web, but when the dealer said sell and get me $$$$ the 10 YO stang went through the slip. There are a lot of nice cars that go to the auction that could be retailed but if you are a dealer in Ponca City and Not Hendrix Chevy you don't have the luxury of 125 cars on your floor plan. https://www.google.com/maps/place/24...!4d-97.0663623 I would say they sold the Mustang before they had to pay for it.... I doubt that a 65K mile car needed "reconditioning".

Perhaps there are differences across the country, but I don't think I have ever been to a major brand dealership that had a 10 year old car sitting there in the lot with a price on it. I have worked for 3 different dealers. One of the dealerships I worked for told the sales team "if it's over 6 years old, and not on the list(only about 20 cars on the list) don't offer them more than 500 dollars trade in because we are sending it to the block anyway." As I said, no loan company is going to finance a ****ing 10 year old car. And if people have 10 grand burning a hole in their pocket, they aren't going to a dealership to overpay for a 10 year old trade in. In conclusion, eat a fat bag of bleeding aids dicks you piece of shit mult. Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |
